Question about Epson Printer
I recently installed my new Epson SX415. Please tell me where the option 'black ink only' is lurking! It isn't in 'printing preferences, advanced' as it was with my old Epson machine. I consulted Epson by email - and was told to go to 'printing preferences, advanced'! Namely. they either didn't read my query properly or they chose to ignore it .....
I don't print loads of photos - I DO print documents that need only be printed in black. If you look at the 'advanced' menu for the SX415, there's a 'grey-scale' option, but NOT 'black ink only'. My operating system is Vista.
Help ave jst installed my epson stylus x415 i dont no were to put the catridges or paper a its second hand and didnt come with disc

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.

The problem can be two fold. Wrong cartridges, or blocked/damaged inkjet openings. Return it to the seller under warranty if its brand new. If it was fitted with non epson cartridges your warranty may be in question.
But I could almost guarantee the black qand the blue cartridges are faulty or their feed jets are
