1 out of 3 times that i answer my cell phone(Verizon Wireless) I only hear myself saying "hello"...the other party cant hear me and i cant hear them.
I had the Samsung a740..they replaced it with a brand new one because of this problem..it still happened immediately! They gave me a whole different and brand new phone LG Chocolate...when I got home I recieved a call and it happened again and KEEPS happening! Everything I say is repeated back to me..the only solution is to hang up and call the person back.It only happens when I recieve calls. They arent all Verizon customers..my Mom has an iphone with ATT service and it does it when she calls too. It has been happening for about 3 months EVERYDAY!!! PLEASE HELP!! Verizon says they have never heard of this.
Hmm, I'm not sure... If you can I'd try to go to California and see if you still get the echoes. For me, heading back to the place where I said I would be using my phone more frequently stopped the echoes. Or you might just want to get a Ohio cellphone number... Like I said, I'm not too sure... well Good Luck.

Dial *228 and push "Send" to complete the call to the activation service. A screen will appear over the call timer that says "Programming in Progress..." and you should hear a voice recording say, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless Over-The-Air Programming."
Press 1 for initial programming. This option is used if the phone has been deactivated or is being activated for the first time.
Press 2 to update roaming information and to download a free software upgrade to enable better roaming coverage. Pressing 2 and choosing this option will assign your phone to another tower that should enable better reception, especially when roaming
Welcome to Fixya. Phone Company is correct with their resolution. The problem that you have with the phone is the ear piece. The ear piece is the part of the phone that allows you to hear the other party. If this is happening on the phone you might need to change the phone or the handset with a working one so that you will be able to hear the other party.
see if you can take your phone setting out of the speaker. usually when it is on speaker phone, you get that. are you using an ear piece and thoses thhis happen when you call just him or any other call you make.
what do you mean by echoing? like what you say echos? if so that happens to all phones even the best its just something youll have to get used to or get a new one thats less ..."echoy"
