Your previous route was not completed. Did the garmin announce "Arriving at Destination "? If it didn't then it is still trying to route to your original destination. Just because you shut off the garmin it still retain the previous route. It will clear the previous route once it announce "Arriving at Destination" Just go to the main menu and push STOP. This will stop routing.

It may be trying to get you back on track or if when turning it on it trys to take you a previously sort location you may have set this as your home. make sure your actual home address is stored as your home address on the gps unit.

How do i regester my garmin

Hi, go to https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/registrationGettingStarted.htm and with your Nuvi plugged into your computer follow the instructions to set up an account, register and then download the latest upgrade. The first one is free, then you have to pay after that. If they say that your product is already registered (which is what happened to me!) then you have to go back to the supplier and tell them to notify Garmin to let you register it again. The supplier may have previously registered it and used up the one free upgrade. If they are authorised Garmin distributor they will be able to do this. If they are not, then you have effectively got a used unit, and you will have to pay for upgrade/updated maps. Have fun! David

I had to buy a new cell phone [droid] as my previous one was damaged. Although connected my NUVI 760 it will not down load the address book in the cell phone. What am I doing wrong??

Connect your 760 via USB to your computer and go to www.garmin.com and hover your mouse on "Support" and then click "Software". Select "Webupdater for Divice Software" and follow the directions to download updates for your 760. Keep in mind, not every cell has the same level of supported features, so some things that worked through your 760 on your old cell may no longer work with your new cell. If you have further question, click on "Contact Support" to get factory help.

I hope this helps!

How to reset GARMIN GPSMAP298?

Hi,

To reset just press the red standby button and hold until it goes off. then turn it back on. On other models you can delete all information from the previous trip by going to the section where the information is held and pressing options and Reset All.

Here's a .pdf of the manual:

When you make a trip and have not fully completed the trip the garmin will ask you if it is a via or a new destination....so it's a new destination...it will trow away the previous not completed trip.

Can not get route information desoite having had it programmed into garmin

Try doing a hard reset. Hold down the back button (leftside), the thumbwheel, and then the power button. This will reset all setting back to factory default. You will lose any custom setting, recent find and waypoints.

Garmin 350 Nuvi

not sure if you are keeping the tab open but...the reason is because the tab at the top of the GPS is the antannae. You have to open it or it won't work. when you press the reset button, you are opening the antannae first which then acquires the satellites. Keep the top tab open.
