The compressor fills up with air fine.AS i start

The rigid double stack oil compressor fills up with air fine.As i start to use it with my tools the air pressure will eventually go all the way down to zero than fills up without the compressor going on.It does this a couple of times and than goes on to refill. It doesn't get a consistent flow of air before turning on again.Do i need a new pressure adjuster? Is it an expensive fix?

Yes sounds like a defective pressure regulator, I would order a new one and replace it, pay attention to the flow direction when installing the new one, they have an arrow on them to indicate correct flow direction.

I would check the pressure switch. It probably has bad contacts in it. You could try to clean the contacts first before replacing the unit.

Our Hitachi EC119Sa will not start if the temp is lower than 60. It also kicks out the restart button

Easy test to determine problem. Plug compressor directly into outlet without extension cord. Start compressor with no air in the tank. It it starts, fill to 50-60 psi and unplug from wall to stop. Wait few minutes and plug the compressor back in. It it starts, most likely problem is too heavy oil or the use of extension cord. If it does not start after few minutes wait, most likely not unloading due to leaking intank check valve or bad cold start valve (see reference # 47 on your parts list). The cold start valve should release air from discharge tube after few minutes. If the intank checkvalve is leaking, the cold start valve will not work and stall the compressor. If all test ok, then just replace oil with 10 - 15 - or 20 wt. Good luck

The rigid double stack air compressor fills up with air fine. When i start to use it no air pressure comes out.

There has to be a restriction where the air leaves the compressor. Remove the supply fitting and check to make sure the hole is open into the tank. Also look to see if the fitting isn't blocked. If none of this is the case check the air line for blockage and also check to make sure there is no shut off valve in the line that isn't open.

Just aquired. Has plastic plug in oil fill oil, which blows out when compressor runs. if I tape the plug in place, the compressor runs fine. why

Check with maker but most vane type pumps the oil is under the same pressure as the tank
so you need a proper stopper !!!

Have rigid twin stack air compressor. Only keeps about 75 psi and keeps running. I do hear air from the exhaust port (seems normal). Haven't used it for a while. Any ideas? Thanks, in advance.

possiably the " reed valves under the head are not closeing off all the way. These may be bent or somehow distorted their tension most of the time from exsesive heat. Good luck
