System won't allow me to delete below entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 in order to get pioneer dvd drive going again what do I do now thanks

Disconnect the drive from the PC or disable it through BIOS, then boot, remove the entry and, if you disabled the drive reboot the PC and enable it through BIOS, if you disconnected it then turn off PC, reconnect it and Boot.

Please try steps I am giving below :

Step 1: Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. Registry Editor starts.

Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry

Dvd driver problem


Check whether the Optical Drive is listed in the Device Manager with Yellow Exclamation mark.
You can run the Microsoft Fixit to resolve the issue.

I have lenovo 3000 Y410. It has DVD drive problem. Any DVD or CD can not be write or read. I have change it twice in warranty period. But again that problem is started.


try deleting upper and lower filters from your registry file. this is the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
then restart your computer

My pioneer dvdrw dr-td08hb ATA was working really good, but then it stoped, now won´t even read anything and on control panel it says there´s a problem loading the controler, alredy uninstalled...

The computer can not read the DVD rom, its not listed in the drive


try to run system restore. but if it doesnt work. check the functionality of the drive in safe mode (by pressing f8 when the computer turns on, dont wait for the windows logo to come up, you need to press f8 before the windows logo screen) try to explore whats on the disk and if it works. delete upper and lower filter by following the path. click start, click run, type regedit, hkey local machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/class/4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318
if you upper filter and lower filter, delete both. restart th computer and that should do it.

Lets do this.

1. Close all programs
2.Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter.
3.click HKEY LOCAL MACHINE - SYSTEM - Current control set - control - class - select {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - on the right hand side you'll find upper filters and lower filters entries - right click and delete both(Upper and lower filters) - restart your computer and hope this works for you,

My cd rom drive is not appearing on my computer i have an equium a210


follow these steps
Click start
Click run
type regedit
keep clicking the plus sign next to
Hkey local machine>>System>>Current ControlSet>>Control>>Class
Under class click on the first folder that starts fro 4D and it would be like 4D36E965
Now at the right hand side you will see options like upper filters and lower filters just right click and delte them
If you dont see both of them no worries delete the one that you see .After this restart your system.and check
