I start my bike and after 4 5 second engine hed is very hot

Some description of 2-stroke or 4-stroke, number of cylinders, type of cooling would have been useful.

In mild or hot weather the head of an air cooled bike could conceivably be hand-hot in 45 seconds but mostly it would take considerably longer, especially if the engine is a 4-stroke. Of course just because an engine heats up quickly it doesn't mean it will overheat in use and air-cooled engines should not be operated for long while the bike is stationary, except in cold weather, but be put into normal use as soon as possible after starting.

If the engine is overheating there are various things that could influence or cause it. Ignition timing, valve timing, fuel air mixture, lubrication, detonation, restricted exhaust...

Good luck!

What size piston to get for my little 2-stroke Yamaha dirt bike?

Are you able to measure the bore and stroke? Cubic centimeters displacement would be pi times radius squared times height.? The dealer can take those numbers off the engine and do the job,why not? Match up the old piston if you can find it

Put a new piston in and when i went to put the timing back together i don't know where to put the markings at.

This is not hard but will take some patience to fix it. When the piston is at the top it is called top dead center or TDC. The trick is to get the spark at just a hair after TDC.
Here comes the trick. 4 Stroke engines require two trips to TDC to get one spark. 2 stroke engines get a spark every trip to TDC.
First. Figure out if you 2 or 4 strokes.
Second Adjust timing so it fires just a hair after TDC
Let me know if you need more info and model of bike

Yamaha india

hello Sir,

It was the phase between 1990-1995, when Yahama lost to Hero Honda, as v know, Yahama was an expert in 2-stroke engine bikes, as v know 2-stroke engine will yield higher power but NO good mileage, n emit more smoke.
so...GOV OF INDIA phased out all production of 2 stoke engines in the country, so yamaha had to stop the production of Yamaha RX n RD series in INDIA.

N constantly rising fuel prize, utilizing this need form d public Hero Honda's CD 100 hit the market, with 4 stroke engine n heavily improved mileage.

hence Hero honda won the race...

Although Yamaha came up with some 4 stroke models, but those didnt click it for them, but now its again yamaha's time !!

with introuduction of Yamaha R15, FZR , really yamaha is back with a bang !!

thank u so much..!!
plz vote me/ rate me ..thank u!!
