I had the cdrom as first boot device. After reading all the fixes out there about installing xp I checked my ram chips again. I dont know what was wrong but apparently they werent seated well enough. After I re inserted the ram I was able to load xp on the fresh hard drive with no problems. :) thanks for all the help guys Appreciate it.

In BIOS Setup, do you have the first boot device set to CDROM? Yes? Do you have another CD drive? Try it.

Dell optiplex 780 i wanted to change from windows 7 to xp blue screen appears how to fix

You are going to need to start your computer in safe mode and find the XP drivers that will work for your motherboard manually from the web (Assuming that there are any created for XP for that board). That blue screen you keep getting is because you don't have the correct driver loaded for something on the motherboard that it needs to boot correctly and your XP install couldn't find it on the web to install automatically.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking".

Now start looking for your drivers here:

I can't load Windows xp. Get this error with blue screen of death irql_not_less_or_equal I had windows 7 on it but not all of my devices would work. Win-7 loaded with no problem . So I put xp in format and...

In regards to getting the "irql_not_less_or_equal" BSOD this can be related to several things. You could be having a driver problem or a hardware related problem. To know exactually what your problem is we need to look at the stop code you are getting as well. The link below will show you what number I need to see exactually where your problem is.

Note Since you have gotten Windows 7 to install most likely the issue is driver related. So the thing to look at with your Windows XP CD does it atleast have SP2 as a part of the install. If it does not you may not have all the chip set drivers that the motherboard needs.

Yes, you are right, It is possible that your motherboard cannot support Vista O.S.. Reinstalling Windows XP
O.S. will prove it. If XP works, you 100% right.

I recently tried to install a new WD320Gb HD and windows XP won't load. I loaded it to the drive from another computer and Windows won't successfully boot up. I get a Stop: 0x0000076B (0xF7946640,...

You installed the 320GB drive into another system & installed windows XP. Than removed the drive & installed it into another computer!
All of windows internal drivers for the first install will not function in the second. (Windows XP is going nuts).
You have to do a fresh install while in the system you want to keep the drive in. This is why your getting the stop errors & blue screens.
You must have a reason of why you did not install the 320GB drive into the second computer for the XP installation?
Care to provide the why?
