It helps the speed. The faster the speed is the faster the internet. You have a 800 MHZ and 3 Meg you might only run 2 Megs speed. If you had a 1.6 gig you almost get 3 megs of speed, depanding on your location.

Dell Poweredge SC430 Shows error Code 3.

Haven't seen anybody use the term Microprocessor, for a long time.

How about CPU instead? Shorter, easier to type, carries a certain 'savior faire' to it; and will help teach people not to use it to mean PC. Personal Computer.

(Central Processing Unit. Microprocessor is another term used, or simply Processor for short )

I'm going to assume you are following Anti-Static Procedures.
If not the CPU's you have touched, are now key chain fobs.
(Drill a hole through them for the chain, lol!)

Have to go through the basics. It isn't an insult to your intelligence, I just need to go through a diagnostic flowchart in my mind.

CPU installed the correct way? Aligned correctly?
With the LGA 775 processor socket, the CPU can be turned, and installed wrong,

That little alignment 't1t' can get crushed.

What CPU did you install?
Do you know if it is supported?
The motherboard chipset is an Intel E7230,

A) Dual-Core CPU's

B)Front Side Bus support of either 800MegaHertz, or 1066MHz
(800MHz / 1066MHz FSB)

C) Hyperthreading Technology (HT)

However, depending on the CPU, you may need to perform a BIOS update.

With the old CPU going out, and now the new CPU doesn't work, I would suggest going back to the start of the diagnosis, and look into the Power Supply.

The Power Supply is the FIRST thing to look at, when diagnosing a desktop computer. Server notwithstanding.

A Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail, will emulate all sorts of software problems, and hardware problems.

Have a multimeter to use to test the 3 main voltage power rails?
(3.3 Volts DC, 5 Volts DC, and 12 Volts DC)

Have a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply, you can borrow for a temporary test unit?

Hi , We are having 2 windows servers with identical configuration, and also we are using the windows 2003 with vendor application, We installed 8 GB of RAM in both server , But I could only 4 GB amount...

To reply your query in short. If you have any of the following versions of server it would support the maximum RAM upto 4 GB.

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition SP1
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition SP2
Windows Storage Server 2003
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
Windows Small Business Server 2003

If you are using : Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
It will support only 2 GB of RAM

Hi My server has 8 memory slots but only 4 seem to be working. How can I make all of them work

It depends on the version of Server OS you have. If you already have 4 GB of memory installed and you're using Small Business Server 2003 or another 32-bit Server OS, then that is all the memory you'll be able to use. In order to use the other slots, you'll need to upgrade to a 64-bit OS. (Full Windows Server 2003 64 bit or later).

SQL Server and Internal Website

i would expect that the hostname of your webserver has changed. this means that the custom software you are using needs to have this changed as well otherwise it will continue to look for your old server...

you could also change the server name to be the same as the old server and that should solve the problem as well

please remember to rate this answer if it has been useful

thanks trev

ECL is used where the need for its greater speed offsets the fact that it consumes the most power. Four-bit devices, while inexpensive, are good only for simple control applications; in general, the wider the data format, the faster and more expensive the device. Hi Ben,

You have 6 people in your family. Are Bob and Fred the only person in your family having coursework? If they are the only ones then all you have to do is create a shared folder for both Bob and Fred. You can password the folder if you like so that only Ben and Fred will be able to access their coursework folders. You can place the shared folders either on the upstairs computer or the downstairs one, it does not really matter. So even when Fred is using the computer upstairs, Bob can still access his own coursework folder by using the computer downstairs. Hope it works for you.

Cannot turn it on using either the remote or set top switch. There is a click and red light blinks but no sound or picture. For some time if I hit the on button 5-6 times it would work but now it does not...

the initial symptom is usually caused by microprocessor as it is not initializing correctly. followed by 4 blink error which is i2c communication failure also specific to microprocessor would recommend replacing small signal board as microprocessor is located on that board

Adding second CPU

Did you receive a VRM with the the PRC upgrade kit? And have you installed it?

The following items are/should be included in a microprocessor upgrade kit:
• A microprocessor (PRC)
• A heat sink
• Heat-sink retention clip(s)
• A voltage regulator module (VRM),
Your upgrade kit may also include a cooling fan.

If you are adding a secondary microprocessor, examine the VRM to ensure that it is the correct VRM for your system. Install the VRM in the appropriate secondary VRM connector, ensuring that the latches at each end of the connector engage. If you received two VRMs with the upgrade kit, replace the primary VRM already installed in the system with one of the VRMs from the upgrade kit.
Note: The system does not support mismatched VRMs.
