Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 Digital Camera

1 Answer

About 10% of my downloaded photos are misaligned, "faded" or only partially downloaded. Different photos are corrupted depending on whether I load them with the sony cybershot program or with Windows. I use Vista and it has worked wonderfully until last week.

I'm assuming you connect the camera to the computer via USB connection. Did you remember to use the "safely remove hardware" function at the bottom right of your screen when you were done? You might have more success downloading what's on the card using a card reader. You can try a reset with the camera...go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the onscreen instructions. After downloading, be sure to format the card in the camera to optimize it.

1989 -1990 350 big bear it has a knocking when starting but after a few mins it warms up doesn't seem to knock as how can I fix this

Depends where the knocking is coming from, what sort of knock, how loud it is, what speed and whether it is load and speed dependent.

It is important to have a rough idea of the location or source of the knock in order to decide whether to dismantle or not and if dismantling what to begin checking. Even if you had the patience to make the sound heard with words it would be no substitute for an experienced person hearing it.
Also different people describe noises differently and hear them differently.

Aluminium is a common material used in such engines and it expands about seven times more than steel as it heats up and this is the principle reason why cold engine knocks can fade after warm-up and why some cold engines are silent and are noisier when hot.

Listening through a stethoscope or a large screwdriver is an aid to locating the area of the knock. A load dependent knocking indicates piston or connecting rod problems and if the noise becomes louder and more harsh on load or as the speed increases it signals trouble sooner rather than later

Faded text every few lines- Canon printer

When you print photos you print in Max dpi, for this no faded lines anywhere. Probably you have a problem only in black color in print head.

Corrupt images created by Exilim EX-Z1050

We discovered that the photos weren't corrupt on the camera, but were being corrupted when transferred to Picassa, during the transfer process. We transferred some test photos using a simple file copy operation and it worked out fine.

Hard drive crash, drive defects in the area where the O/S is, or, corrupted O/S files.

Download the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic software and run it. It will examine your drive and give you an evaluation.

If it tells you the drive is fine, the either a complete reload, or a repair will get you back up and running. Whether you will be able to recover any of your data, will depend on the drive condition.
