Re: Door interlock switch

The door interlock switches are safety switches so the washers stops when the door is open if bypassed and the door is open could be a mess and damage floor so let your mind be your guide its not recommend by factories who are damage minded hope this helps but it wold work i mean if such a condition existed the washer would run

You will have to find the component in the machine that has
gone live to neutral, live to eath or neutral to earth if it is protected by a RCCBO. Check on the back of the printed circuit board for "BLOWS" black marks blown components.

hi Servicing the Door Switch

On many dishwashers, the latch engages a switch to activate the timer and other control components. If the latch is not completely engaged or if the switch is faulty, the machine will not operate. Here's how to test and repair a door switch:

Step 1: Latch the door and hold the latch tightly in the closed position. This works best on a unit with a lever-type latch. Then turn the control to the ON position. If the unit works, the problem is probably a misaligned lock unit. Adjust the lock unit with a screwdriver. If this doesn't solve the problem, the switch may be faulty.

Step 2: Test the switch with a volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM) set to the RX1 scale. Remove the panel covering the door switch and remove one of the electrical lead wires of the switch from its terminals. Clip one probe of the VOM to each switch terminal and shut the dishwasher's door. If the meter reads zero, the switch is working. If the meter reads higher than zero, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 3: Replace the switch with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch the same way the old one was connected.

For repairs to the timer, door latch, or switches, remove the control panel. To take it
off, remove a series of retaining screws and the control knobs, and lift off the panel.

Dishwasher door lock does not unlock on my GE quiet profile 3 dis

Sounds like you door safety interlock switches, are faulty, these can be easily replaced, at reasonable cost.
A DIY links above. it is pretty easy, you may even be able to adjust your one too.

My GE Nautilus dishwasher stopped. Before it

Sounds like your door interlock switch is faulty.

There is a metal tab on the unit that triggers a interlock switch. The switch is located in the door and is part of the door handle. This tells the machine that the door is closed and that it is OK to start.

Most probably the first experience with the machine continuing to work with the door open was that the switch in the door was stuck in the on position. When you closed the door it moved to off and stuck there.

Open the door and use a screwdriver to move the switch to the on position. Move the timer to on. You should hear the unit start. If so it is the switch. Repair or replace it. You could try WD40 and switching it on and off a few times to free it up. Once you can see it is working make sure it is aligning with the tab correctly. You can bend the tab to adjust the alignment.

To repair:

Turn the breaker off.

There are screws on the frame of the door and in the door to hold the control panel in place. Carefully remove the control panel to access the switch. Once you see it you will be able to remove it easily as it just screws in. Replacement is the reverse of removal.

Hope this helps please rate if it does help you.

Fuse blown,door switch shorted

you need to readjust the"Interlock" switch position on the door, they are made to blow the fuse purposely when the door is mis-adjusted for safety, you will need to unplug the unit and disconnect the "interlock" safety switch, then readjust and close the door, until you can get the switch adjusted so it doesn't show a short circuit on the meter, then this should stop the fuse blowing issue for you

The hobart lxih is stuck in delime.

To reset or clear delime message, on control board there are 3 buttons. from power off, drawer open, manget on door switch, door closed, hold PROG on board and press the ON key on keyboard. pressing select moves to next poption, up arrow increases setting. step through select until you see delime, settings for LXi are de for disabled, and 1 through 65= x100 cycles. rg if set at 5, after 500 cycles the message apears. To keep the settings and clear the message a delime sequence needs to be run precisely as described.

With machine off, remove rack , close door, press and hold wash/delime key and press ON. Delime will be lit on display, release wash/delime key, and let machine fill. you should then see ADD and DELIME on the display, open the door and add the delime agent following supplier's instructions precisely. close the door, press wash, delime will flash. After delime is complete power is turned off. Inspect the machine and repeat if necessary.

When I start the cycle the water will not enterr the dishwasher. Is there a sensor somewhere that needs to be cleaned / repaired.

Just like a washing machine..your dishwasher uses an electrically operated valve ( inlet valve) to allow water to flow into it.. If that doesn't get switched on by the control system or is either clogged or defective.. you will not get water inside the dishwasher.. Normally, the dishwasher will not allow water into it if the door interlock is not made ( meaning the door is closed properly.. but you could have a bad interlock switch).. Hope thes ideas help you get it going.. ( I assume you have checked that youhave water pressure to the dishwasher before you posted your question)..if not.. verify you have water pressure coming into the DW... Hope this helps..

Hygena dishwasher

there is a pressure stat but these are reliable. a common fault is the wiring loom broken where it goes round the corner at the bottom of the door. take outer door panel off and inspect the wiring loom for breakage

Door Interlock switch Maytag MDB4100 dishwasher

If the door is not latching well enough try adjusting the spring on the tub it's the male part that goes into the door latch. If that doesn't help you need to replace the latch. It's inside the door. The switch is mounted to the latch in the door so to get to it you have to remove all the screws around the outside edge of the inner door panel. Unhook power before replaceing latch or switch!
