Hello. Your problem is related to your fuel. Begin by installing a new fuel filter. IF that doesn't solve it, use a fuel additive, I recommend Seafoam, which will clean the carb. etc. This product is available at most any autoparts store, just folllow the instructions regarding amount of seafoam per gallon of fuel. If that doesn't do it, then have the fuel pump checked out. If the fuel pump is on it's last legs it could cause the symptoms you describe. Regards, Joe

When stopped at a stop light my oil gauge goes down and my temperature gauge goes up on my 94 Chevy 1500 truck. I just changed the oil yesterday? What could it be?


Both issues could be normal to a degree. The engine temp would go up some when the truck stops moving, and the oil pressure would go down some when the engine returns to idle.
Are the two gauges reading out of normal range ?

Gas hand reads full all the time


Fuel gauge may be the problem, but may also be a short in wires going to fuel gauge
Battery power goes to gauge in dash then to resistor in tank to ground. If the wire going to tank is shorted to frame it will always read full. Test this by disconnecting the wire going to the tank. If it goes to empty then you know the reason, either resistor in tank is bad or wire shorted.

Does the car have a normal oil level on the dipstick? The behavior is consistent with a broken timing belt except for the part about the temperature gauge going to the top which would indicate overheating or a faulty gauge.

Gas gauge goes up and down when I get out of car when i am sitting in car the gauge reads full even though it is not full then on hills and just sitting at a stop light it goes to empty for no reason


You most likely have a failing fuel level sending unit which is located inside the fuel tank. The sender wears a bit as the float arm moves up and down with normal fuel level variations and this wear can result in a guage that reads erratically. Many of the fuel level senders are now only sold as a part of the fuel pump module so if it turns out that it is indeed the sender you may have to replace the entire pump module. Hope this helps!

What is consider "normal" operating temperature in a 2008 impala LT. the temperature gauges is showing a little past the mid mark of the guage


thats normal will vary in traffic and long journeys
midway just over it fine .when it goes into red you have to worry happy motoring

Oil pressure gauge reads normal when first starts. as it warms up, gauge goes to zero. If I rev engine, gauge goes back to normal.


Two things...when it reads zero, is there any engine noise (tapping or knocking)? After you rev the engine does the pressure read normal at idle and function normally, or does it go back down? Either way, you should not drive the vehicle 'till you have a mechanical gauge (yours is electro-mechanical) put on there and the actual pressure is tested. The condition may be a bad sending unit, a bad bearing or possible obstructed oil pump screen. The repair is obviously different for each one and the price is as well.

I own a 1994 boston whaler Rage with a yamaha J650c jet drive in it. I bought this boat and the temperature sender was not working. I replaced the gauge and the sender . The sender goes into the computer...


boston walyler and a yamaha j650 is a good set up

all you need at the moment is a led test light and a volt meter
make sure you have volts or amps and earths at the right places

some messy DIY wiring done and takes time to sort it properly

i would suggest a compression test on the motor

you have water pump impeller worn or coil ,plugs, fuel supply and other reasons why the motor would over heat or run rough

no temp shut down system on yamaha electronics module
if that was blown the motor would not start

this is the boat and the motor yamaha J650c
