I got a Toshiba regza 37 HD TV for christmas and it also makes loud popping/cracking noises on certain channels. Picture on these channels was also broken up and now I cannot view ABC at all. I'm still using the old antenna that we've had for the last 15 years. Any suggestions?I got a Toshiba regza 37 HD TV for christmas and it also makes loud popping/cracking noises on certain channels. The possibility is that the heat generated by your plasma screen tv is affecting the outer mask of the screen causing the cracks to appear .
Or it may be that the screen has been struck in some fashion and the cracks are a result , do you have small children this is often a cause as they tend to hit things and you are unaware ?. My advice to you is to seek engineers assistance as soon as possible . regards Vortash
Looks like you've got the best connection available - initially I thought it might have something to do with decoding the prologic signal from the analog input, but obviously not! And since you've got the audio separate from the video it is unlikely there is any interference from the video signal in the cable. Have you tried a different DVD player (I reckon that is most likely)? Also try connecting the video signal DIRECTLY from DVD to the TV if you aren't already doing so (you are anyway aren't you - the HTR 5660 doesn't have HDMI out does it?) Finally, if you have some spare cables around, try changing them - see if you get the same response when using component video cable instead of HDMI.
