Determining Real-Time CPU Speed

Go to CPU Speed Professional's website (see Resources) and download "CPU Speed Professional."

Open CPU Speed Professional.

Click "Test Your Speed" on the main program interface.

A real-time, active measurement of your CPU speed will appear numerically, and CPU Speed Professional will also display your CPU speed on a stylish meter for easy visual comprehension.

How do i upgrade processor

upgrading the processor on laptop usually not recommended since you won't get too much performance boots from doing that. Adding more memory or larger/faster hard drive would be a better solution. Anyway, to upgrade the processor on laptops normally require you to remove the motherboard to access the CPU.

I have a sony vaio vgn-nr430e laptop, and was wondering if the motherboard processor could be upgraded? Also can a video card be installed.

    Hi.

Yes you should be able to upgrade the processor on the laptop for a faster one. The socket type of the processor is socket PPGA47. This code is what you type for when looking for a faster processor. The installed processor should be Intel Pentium T2390 / 1.86 GH.

As for the graphics card then i'm sorry but the graphics chip is part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

    Regards.

Upgrading my processor without changing my motherboard

A pentium 3 processor is probably in a Socket 370 socket.

None of the current processors would fit in this socket, so you would want to look at second-hand computer stores / markets or maybe in your local classifieds.

It might be worth checking what speed processors your motherboard can support up too before buying one.
