Question about IBM ThinkPad R40 2722 Notebook
Hi, this sounds like a bad hard drive. Some computer repair shops might be able to get into the drive and save some of your files. However you probably will need to replace the hard drive. Good Luck...

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I have a t42 and it does the same thing; mine is not the hard drive but the CDROM. it only does it at rest; never while in use. can you tell where the clicking is coming from?
