Question about Cameras

Open Question

I cannot play my SD Card video clips on my computer. They appear as a series of still photos when put on to my computer. I usually use VLC for all my videos on my computer and have no other problems with it. I used a card recovery website to restore the SD Card as all the photos/video clips were "hidden". The Card Recovery v5.20 did a wonderful job of recovering the photos but only two of the many video clips actuall play. I purchased a Don't Panic CD Rom from Jessups. This only recovered some of the photos and none of the video clips. Thank you and I hope that you can help me. Sean Kilgarriff

SOURCE: video clips

It sounds like you need to update your codec. Try playing the file with VLC player. That requires no codecs to use. If it will not play within that program, then it probably shouldn't be played lol.

Try again with other software. If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.
All the download links listed in the article are through CNET, primarily to verify that these are malware free software, and to give you a chance to read user reviews on the software before downloading.

SOURCE: missing pictures on sd card

You may need to try some photo recovery software to rescue the pictures, here are some for your option.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the SD card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

Hi - If you're saying you're playing your video files right off the SD card that would be your problem. The data rate right off an SD card is too slow to play any decent sized video clip.

Copy the video files from your SD card to your hard drive and it take care of the problem.

Good Luck and thanks for using Fix Ya.

Help how do i run my movie clip on my coolpix. thanks bill

go to view your photos saved on your sd card... when you reach the movie clip, press the play button. the up and down might control the volume as well.
alternatively, please take the sd card out and use a card reader and transfer to pc all photos and videos.. then you can view it from the computer.

How do i play whats on the memory card nothing plays video only audio. or what do i need to convert it

First, make sure you have it on CARD (and not DISK), and on the "playback" (and not record) mode. Next, does the camera play back other video clips normally, but just not a specific clip ?
Does the selected video clip frame (index) shown on the LCD screen have a picture ? If not, i.e. it is blank (dark), then it is likely that no video was recorded (i.e. just the audio) when you were shooting that video clip.
If there is a picture (of the video clip frame index on the LCD screen) and only audio is playing, try downloading the clip (from the SD card) to your computer, or simply try to play the video on the SD card (inserted directly into your SD card reader on your computer, or via a USB SD card reader) and see if the video clip will play normally on your computer.

Can we download video from camera to computer, and if so what cable we should use? Thank you. Karel

Yes you can download photos and video from your camera. The type of cable depends on your camera model (the USB fits in the computer). If Your camera has a memory card you can use a card reader instead. Put the card in the reader and use picasa software to import the photos. Or go to My Computer and click on the memory card which appears there as E: or D: open folders there and copy/paste photos and videos. Download VLC player best for playing video.

Computer wont play a video i recored with my camera on my sd card

I understand, if you are able to record on the SD card, make your computer to recognize it and lastly if you can transfer it successfully with no errors, we can make it to work by choosing an appropriate media player. I personally would recommend VLC player. Latest version of this software can be found in:
www.filehippo.com
Still if you are not able to open/run the media file. Let me know the type of file. I ll then according do a research and suggest a specific codec or a player that will support the file type.
File type can be found be right-clicking on the file and selecting Properties.

The Sansa only plays videos from its internal memory. You can play music from the microSD card, but not photos nor videos.

Videos captured in 720 or 1080 are really jerky when open on computer. I use Verbatim 16 gb class 6 SD card. What could be the problem?

Hey There Buddy! I think the problem might lie in your computer. Maybe it's about your RAM memory size or Graphic Card memory size, because the SD-Card is quite top of it's class so the problem is just that your computer is not able to show you your videos properly. Also what Video player are you using for this, hope it's not Real Player or Windows Media Player, i HIGHLY recommend using VLC player, it's very lightwieght on your computer resources so it can play 720p and 1080p video much much smooth unlike most other players. Here's the direct download link for the latest version of the VLC Player for Windows- http://www.videolan.org/mirror.php?mirror=http://mirror.beyondi.org/vlc/&file=vlc/1.0.1/win32/vlc-1.0.1-win32.exe
So obviously, try out VLC first and if it doesn't stop the jerking, then it's because of the copmuter not being able to handle the High Definition.
Hope it helps solve it, rate me if it does! Cheers, DJ

Plays the same introduction over and over

The juicebox has a built in video intro that plays when there is no media inserted; it's a cyclic clip from various cartoon network shows. In order to play a video, you have to insert a Juicebox Video cartridge into the player.
To use the MP3 kit, you put the SD card holder into the Juicebox. install the Juicebox software on your computer, put the USB card reader in your computer, and insert the supplied SD card. put a music CD in your computer, use the juicebox ripping software to convert the CD music into 128kbit MP3's, put them into the SD card. then take the SD card, put it in your juicebox SD card adaptor, turn it on. music will come out.
