Question about Acer Aspire 1705SMi Notebook
Always make sure the power cable is unplugged and the battery is removed before stating. The inverter is usually always right beneath the screen on most notebooks. Peel off the rubber pads or plastic covers around your screen to reveal the screws. Once all the screws are out you should be able to pull the plastic bezel off the screen. Sometimes seems stuck so pull hard but not hard enough to break it. The inverter is the little board below the LCD, usually has a cable pluged in at both ends and a few little screws holding it in. Remove the screws, unplug the cables. Reverse the process and hopefully your backlight will come on.
