Need a Peavy Unity Series 1000 Mixer manual

I have two broken sliders that still work fine but the slider knob and connecting shaft are broken off and need replacing.
I tried to open up the mixer but it looks as though there are little plastic rivets that keep the two sides together and are a one time deal.
Once opened they need to be new to work again.
Anyway, are the faders 10k, 20k ??
They are channel #5 and the right main mix faders.

Hi, I have the same problem with the sliders. The board is diffucult to open. You have to take off all the knobs, plastic inserts on th XLR's and nuts on the 1/4' jacks. (Not to mention those black plastic holders.) The slides are 10k and come out quiet easily if you use solder wick. The main board is held in by about 20 of those black plastic holders. You have to release them one at a time starting at the front of the board and work right top left, row by row. The holders will stay on the bottom of the mixer. has the slides in stock for $3.72 each. The phone number is 1-877-732-8391 ext. 1386. (don't forget to order the knobs for each of the slides) Hope this helps. Frank.

How do i clean balance slider and pots?

Sliders are easy where-as pots are not. SLIDERS - provided you insert the "tuner/control cleaner w-lube" extension nozzle past the plastic dust/dirt shield, a few "spurts" of spray, removing nozzle extension and then move control back-n-forth will clean the control. POTS - you MUST shoot tuner/control cleaner in the small slot adjacent to the electrical connections (inside the unit). Removing knobs and spraying the control shaft never works as the shaft-body seal is an extremely tight tolerance. Check here for a view of the pot..

Would you know how to correctly open a CFX20 to clean the pots?

Yopu do NOT clean the pots... if you have noisy sliders, get some CRC226 at Home Depot in the electrical dept. Spray a small bit in the center of the slot for the slider and run the slider up and down. Use sparingly and apply a tiny amount once more. The sliders are NON_REPAIRABLE if this won't fix them and major disassembly is required involving removing the round knobs, fader knobs, screws and other nuts on the jacks. Hours of work. Pots require desoldering tool and use of soloder wick and plunger type removal tools often causes damage to the circuit board.

When I hook up my passive mains and monitors in the mono1/mono mode....mains on B and Monitors on A outputs I don't seem to have much output volume on the monitors are okay but main sliders...

Please read my tip on fixya regarding a HAZARD of PMP mixers when using Speakon to 1/4 inch speaker cables. Essentially, the barrel of the 1/4 inch on A channel is the "hot" and one had better never let it touch a grounded point.

Now to your problem...You may have to run the MAIN sliders near the unity setting (zero Db).

It is important to set the trims correctely. For each of the inout channels, push the PFL button for the channel down and set the trim control so LED display is just below the clipping point at maximum input for the channel.

Ideally you would like the channel sliders to be in the vicinity of unity gain when system is balanced. Running the sliders way down results in a poor signal to noise ratio. Next you adjust the channel monitor knobs to set the monitor mix. These should be about 12 o'clock if possible to get decent signal to noise ratio.

For the MON/Mon1 mode, do NOT use the "Surround" simulator OR the "Speaker processor" ... make sure those swithces are off. You will probably want to PAN the channels fully to the MAIN side "B" which MAY be the reason your level seems low.

Remember the individual channels are about 400 Watts and 600 peak. Frankly myself I prefer to use both MAIN channels to the main speakers and use an external amp for the monitors OR use powered monitors for monitor use.

Hi, I have a Peavey XR 1600D Power Mixer That has 3 sliders that need replacing because they have snapped. I have the new sliders but need to know how difficult to replace. Thank You

It is a pain... After opening the unit you will probably have to remove a lot of the knobs and jack hardware and a few screws to allow moving the board away from the face to get to the sliders.

PLEASE NOTE that often the sliders have many leads and getting ALL the solder removed so that part can be lifted out. I use a special desoldering tool that uses a vacuum source. If one doesn't quite get all the solder and forces the part out, you can lift circuit traces... USUALLY solder wick does NOT work adequately to remove the solder.

HINT: Wiggle each lead to make sure it is free of solder to the board before prying slider out.

When moving the bottom knob on channel 1 and 2 of the pioneer djm 600 mixer there is a slight interference sound coming through the speakers. Channel 3 and 4 are fine

That sounds like you could have some dust built-up on your sliders. Get yourself some dust repellant spray or silicone spray normally found at you nearest computer store. That will definately sort your problem

I dropped my KitchenAid mixer on its side on the counter. The knob broke off, and now the slider bar used in speed selection appears to be bent. it's very hard to turn it on. Is this repairable?

Yes it is. The whole lever is available as a spare part. You will need to provide the complete model number and the colour of the knob (they are usually black or storm grey). It is probably this part you need:

I have my pioneer djm 600 for about 5 years. I went to sell it the other day and turned it on. It worked perfectly except it was only playing through one speaker. I checked the speakers and they were fine....

You've got dirty pots mate! You need to clean all the dust and **** from inside the sliders and the circular trims. The plastic shaft ALPS pots in the DJM600 don't have a sealing bush so if you pull the knob off and spray some "no-residue contact cleaner" down the shaft you may get it to the bottom. DO NOT use WD40 as that leaves an oil and will clog the pots (as the oil will eventually mix with new dust and make a gloopy paste) This would then break the sweeper contact with the resistive surface.

Virtually all the ALPS pots on the 600 are stereo so as you have lost a channel some of your pots have lost connection already. Cleaning may help but if not you may need to strip down desolder the troublesome ones and replace (or if your feeling brave bend open the tabs and clean internally)

Don't worry though. I got the right cleaner (electronic use no-residue stuff) from a car accessory shop and it all started working again without opening her up.

Using the dp-01 as a interface mixer

If you're asking about being able to use the DP-01s knobs and sliders to control the virtual knobs and sliders on some PC recording software the answer would be 'no'.

But if you just want to use the DP-01 to act as a mixer for incoming signals (like microphones and or guitars or other instruments) the answer is 'kind of'. The DP-01 cannot act as a usb interface for your PC, but it can sit in front of a usb interface or sound card and act as a mixer of sorts to mix input from instruments through the monitor outs and then into your computers sound cards or usb interfaces audio-in jacks. You are however limited to two simultaneous inputs though as that is all the DP-01 can handle.

Bottom Slide Cover (Part 2a in the manual)

See the description for the speed problem and repositioning of the slidere at this link. The slider should snap back in place easily if everything is ok. The slider also operates a switch inside the mixer. This switch is intended to only allow you to run on full power when using the hand blender. You may need to open up the mixer to check this switch is not stuck in the activated position permanently. Otherwise consider the description of the speed problem in the link.
