Compatibility with LG VX8700 - connects but won't work when button pressed

Minikit and phone pair with no problem and then appear to connect. I get the bluetooth device connected icon appearing on the VX8700 and the Minikit beeps to confirm connection. If I hit the Green button on the Minikit both the red and green lights come on but I can't communication or answer incoming calls. The only way I have found to get the two communication again is to drop the connection and then re-establish it one or two times. This has happened with two different Minikits and with both firmware 1.02 and the newest 1.03.

My LG VX8700 has a similar problem with the Jawbone headset. It does not always connect when I need it to. I have returned the first Jawbone thinking it was defective, but experienced the same problem connecting on the second one. It eaither times out or displays a message stating the device is off or out of range.

The only solution that I have found is to return my Vx8700 phone for another. Eventually it stopped working with all Bluetooth devices. I am on my third one now and it has worked for 2 weeks so far. The problem definitely appears to be with the phone's bluetooth and not the speaker or head phone devices. Since my VX8700 was still under warranty with Verizon, they swapped it out at no charge. Seems like LG should be looking at sometype of recall or enhancement to correct this.

Just left Verizon. My problem was with the Envy2 and the Jawbone. Installed new software onto my phone and it did not fix the problem. Got a new phone. My jawbone work but now I can't add my GPS (Garmin Nuvi) to the phone. When in doscpvery mode neither device can find the other. Has anyone else had a problem connecting to their GPS as well, I'd like to hear from you. shot.glass@verizon.net

i've had a lg vx8700 since it came out, and the bluetooth has just been getting worse and worese... the only way i can connect it now, and make maybe one call, is to turn the phone off, then restart it and the bluetooth headset (i've used 3 different ones, jawbone & 2 motorola with the same problem) at the same time. If i'm lucky, I might get a call out and not have it disconnect / loose the audio with out disconnecting.... anyone know of a fix? It's gotten so bad im thinking i might just quit verizon and go to at&t.

I have the jawbone 2 and the verizion Envy 2. The bluetooth pairs with the phone but after several minutes if someone calls me and I press Yes to answer it, I hear no one. I cant hear them or they can't hear me. I've had this problem for weeks and even returned both bluetooth and phone for new ones. Still I continue to have the same problem. Verizion blames jawbone and Jawbone blames verizion. Does anyone have the same problem? It's getting frustrating.

I've had the same problem with my jawbone 2 and LG 8700. LG issued a software fix for this problem on 8/16. It should be available in all Verizon stores but make sure they have a tech on staff and call and check if they have the fix. I got this from Verizon Tech support today after talking to tech supervisor. This will fix the problem they said

Seems I may have the same problem, I just returned the first Jawbone, second one is displaying the same problem - it pairs but then won't recognize or interact. Sad if it's my phone.

The problem is definitely a phone issue and a software issue at that. The issues can present in almost any LG phone. LG has not issued a software fix in the last 3 years despite Verizon's quality assurance submitting vx 8600s, vx8700s and vx9100s for "investigation". I hope it doesn't present with my vx11000.

Well I have had my third VX8700 since June and both my Parrot and bluetooth headset have been working flawlessly. So for those that are still experiencing the problem I would definitely say it is the VX8700 that is at fault not the various headsets. Verizon should be obligated to correct the issue given the number of phone that failed when used with Bluetooth devices.

Its not the WEP200 thats the problem. Its the LG VX8700. I have a WEP200 that I use with my LG, and my husband has a WEP200 that he uses with his Samsung. His workes perfect while mine is just trouble. After reading other people reviews I realized my phone is just WRONG...
I never liked the phone in the first place, so now I hate it..
Im glad they dont make them anymore.

Me too. Sucks.

I have the same problem with Vx7800 and multiple bletooth devices.

Add me to the list of poor bluetooth. Phone will not locate Jawbone in discovery mode unless I power phone down first. Then keeping Jawbone connected to phone is a battle. It will constantly disconnect and reconnect and has static too. I hear a new firware upgrade on phone fixes these issues for some.

When turning the bluetooth on my iphone cant find the parrot minikit, but my old nokia had no problem, is it the iphone or the parot?

Press and hold both the red and the rotary buttons for some 3 seconds, until the indicator light flashes alternately in red and green. It is in pairing mode now, thus visible for other devices, for the next 3 minutes. Then, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, your car kit should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '1234'. If the pairing process is successful, the car kit should sound a beep. By the way, if your car kit's user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location. You will find many details about settings for your car kit there.

Parrot minikit

Most probaly, yes. I don't have an iphone to either confirm or deny it, but, I can see no reason at all why they would refuse to pair to each other. To do it, press and hold both the red and the rotary buttons for some 3 seconds, until the indicator light flashes alternately in red and green. It is in pairing mode now, thus visible for other devices, for the next 3 minutes. Then, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices.
