Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

XBOX Live Problems

I'm wired and connected through a 2701HG-B Gateway. All tests are confirmed, except for XBOX Live, which means I don't know if NAT is confirmed either. The Update in progress always fails (whether I'm wiredless or wired) when I do updates online, with a USB or CD . What should I do?

    I was thinking that too.. or that there was some hardware error.. I actually got it from Target a long time ago and I never went on Xbox Live until recently because I just got Internet *sighs* Well thanks anyways

Hello,

Did you buy this console second hand?
It looks like it was banned from the Xbox Live service due to having modified the console.

If this is the case you will have to get in touch with the person who sold it to you.

    Hello,

    if you bought it from a store then they should be able to make them responsible, if you got the receipt. They can easily know if it was you that opened the console.

    From what it seems you don't have any hardware error as you get an ip address and pass all the previous tests but the xbox live one.

    I myself got banned today and MS now sends a message that the console is banned. Back to the days where your console was banned they did not send this message, so the users where unable to know if there was an error with the console or his internet/home connection.

Xbox live IP address and gateway dont seem to work


Make sure you are using the xbox networking adapter. Some networking adapters may work on it but if you encountered any problems, xbox tech support won't be able to assist you with some troubleshooting since they don't support any product other than the xbox networking adapter.
  • To test the connection, go to the system area on your xbox live dashboard then go to network settings and select test xbox live connection.
  • If you pass on all test down to NAT then it means you are connected already and you can now enjoy playing online.
  • If you fail on the first part of the test which is Network Adapter or if it says not connected on Wireless Network then you need to perform some steps.
  • Get back to the network setting's area by pressing B on your controller and select restore to factory defaults. Doing this will restore the xbox live settings to default and you need run another test again which may allow you now to pass.
  • If you still fail on wireless network then it means that you need to set your console to wireless mode by going back to Network Settings and selecting the Edit Settings option.

My xbox is telling me that my router's NAT setup is on moderate. what does that mean? and how can i fix it?

Can't connect to xbox live

This page shows wired, and wireless connection, and also has a trouble shooting guide.
You may also have a strict NAT type that you may or may not have to adjust on your router. Here is a link to one of my previous posts about adjusting your NAT type, and Port Forwarding. Most routers are similar, but you will have to consult your manual or the makers website for specific instructions on how to log into your router.

Every time i try to join my friends game it says session is ureachable and it is really annoying. We live at different IP addresses and could connect before. We all have the same DLCs and it is only me...


make sure you and your friends have open NAT, you need to port forward certain ports for xbox live on your router, try to check if ubisoft also has specific ports need to be open. if still the same contact your ISP, they might be having problems.

NAT STRICT

Step 1 : Connect Router - Computer ( Wired )

Step 2 : Open Router setup by typing http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar of the internet explorer

Step 3 : The Default Password is admin

Step 4 : At the top Click Advanced

Step 5 : On the left Click Firewall Settings

Step 6 : Enable DMZ

Step 7 : give the IP Address of the Xbox/PS3/Wii in it

Step 8 : Uncheck the option Enable SPI

Step 9 : Click Save Settings

Step 10 : Test the connection

XBOX 360 strict NAT problem


Make sure you also open the ports on your router. IF you have all the appropriate ports open and still have strict NAT, it's more than likely your ISP and you should give them a call.

Connection problems


MTU stands for "Maximum Transmission Connection". Some routers and/or network gateways are incompatible with Xbox LIVE, while others may be compatible but merely need to have a setting changed. If you compare your router to the list of routers at the following web address, you can confirm whether or not your hardware has been confirmed as compatible with Xbox LIVE by Microsoft:

Whether or not your hardware is listed as compatible, it would still be a good idea to check your instruction manual for the hardware you are using and see how (if possible) to change the MTU settings. Microsoft suggests that the MTU setting should be 1364. Using untested hardware or hardware not listed as compatible may still work, however, future updates to LIVE may suddenly make your hardware incompatible, as updates to LIVE and the Xbox console are made to work with the specifications of tested and listed compatible routers and gateways.
