When printing a new poster the printer will print out a strip of about 3.5 inches of white. Then the job will start printing. Then after some of the poster is printed, it goes and cuts off the white strip. Leaving the 3.5 inch white strip on the floor. Does anyone know how to minimize the waste? Any advice would be appreciated.

- Thank you so much for the reply. Would you be able to point me to detailed instructions to accomplish this task? I don't normally do anything with this printer and this is my first experience with it.
Thanks again
Brian

My boyfriend and I bought a 9600 secondhand and can't get into SM 2. We get into SM 1 find by holding the pause button and powering on the machine. I am a tech who has been in the SM 2 mode of many of the Epson wide format machines. This machine for some reason boots up normally instead of going into SM 2 when I hold the 3 buttons and power on. Anybody know what the problem is? I want to initialize/prime the ink.
