Touch screen not working

Days after getting this phone noted that the front cover, when closed, was loose. Could slightly wiggle it back and forth. Didn't think about it. Now when slide it open the touch screen isn't working. Is this a problem with this phone?

The keypad was not locked. Got a replacement phone immediately. I am now on the third phone. Second one the on/off button didn't work and the third one would freeze multiple times. Was informed that was a probable software issue - software update coming. If this one goes converting to another phone!

Often freezes-solved by sliding phone up and down several times restarts itself 3 buttons on keypad no longer work

Hi,the problem you are experiencing is as a result of a faulty flex connector cable,it's bad hence it can send signals properly from the board to the screen which results to freezing of the phone. The solution is to replace the flex cable.
Here is a detailed solution to assist you in disassembling your phone and replacing the flex conn. cable;
1.Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the four screws you see behind the phone.

2.Run your plastic tool e.g credit card, around the join of the battery compartment to release it.
3.You will see a connector ,it needs to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up and pull the ribbon out.

4.Now remove the two screws on the upper edge of the phone. Both screws will be covered with red stickers.
5.Now move the slide down and remove the three screws you can see.
6.Lift the circuit board to the side slightly to reveal a ribbon attached to the underside. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

7.Pull the slider down to access four more screws. Remove these. Now run your fingernail or your plastic tool around the join of the front cover. This will release the clips which hold it in place. The cover will still be attached near the top of the phone so don't try and force it off .

8.The camera cover should now be loose. Remove the two screws you can see. You can now remove the front cover.
9.With the front cover removed ,the navigation pad and the part that holds this in place will come away with the cover
10.Pull the screen away from the rest of the phone. The c connectors needs to be released. For each, flick the black latch up where the ribbon enters and pull the ribbon out.
11. You now need to separate the LCD and touch screen. To do so you need to slide something flat and thin (the edge of a guitar plectrum would be best) between the LCD and touch screen. Try to follow the dotted line and try not to push your plastic tool too far under the touch screen or you'll get a sticky residue on the underside of it. Applying some heat with a hair dryer may help loosen the touch screen.

12.You should now have the LCD screen and touch screen separated. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Thanks and take care

No display on screen every now and then on my hp 530 laptop...

A bundle of wires runs from the laptop to the screen past the hinge, if the wire gets crimped you can get a short that will cause video issues. If you can wiggle the screen back and forth, bump the laptop, close the top slightly, etc. and change the display appearance, that's probably your issue. Replacing the wires is usually pretty easy but soldering them back to both the board in the system and the LCD panel could be difficult.

Loose left button mouse on an hp dv4-1120us

If only the one button is loose then touch pad assembly probably will require replacement. This isn't a big job but usually involves opening the case. Two screws and one connector and button it back up. If the laptop is new you should have this covered by warranty. Cost of the part should be about $30-$70 as well as labor.

If you are lucky you might just have a loose fitting button that you can snap back in to place. With the laptop off try to gently push/wiggle the button down. It might pop back into its mounts. If this works (slight chance) then it might work normally for a while and pop out again. It won't have fixed the wear that let it come loose.

Touch screen not responding

Hi, I have the HTC touch from bell. I too had the same problem with my screen. It stopped working completely. The phone is pretty much useless without the touch screen working, there is only 3 buttons on the phone! Can't even dial 911... So I was pretty pissed when the screen stopped working. Like others I searched the internet for answers and didn't really find too much. I found that maybe tapping the four corners of the screen firmly might work, but it didn't. Taking the protective cover off the screen might work, didt't work. I tried updating the ROM, using the official software from HTC website. I was able to update my phone, but my touch screen still didn't work. Someone said something about some copper connections inside the phone, need to be re-adjusted behind the screen or something like that. So I willing opened the phone (only 4 hex screws on the back) and took the front plastic cover off. If you look closely, you'll see the front cover is plugged into the 'motherboard' and you can simply unplug it. I unplug it and plug it back in, do a restart of the phone (take battery out and back in) and still nothing, screen doesn't work.
I noticed that on the front cover of the phone (underneath) you can see the copper band of wires that connect to the buttons and probably feeds the information from the touch screen to the 'computer'. I accidentally unplugged the wire (thought I broke it) but was able to insert it back in. I put the the cover back on, put the battery in, power up phone, BINGO! Touch screen works! What I did to make it work? Not sure...
But for people with the same problem. Try this:
1) update ROM

2) Unplug and plug back in that little wire.

Characters in the font have a slight wiggle.

Try adjusting the refresh rate. (i.e. 60hz, 75hz, etc) If that doesn't work, do you have any speakers or magents close to the computer screen? That can sometimes cause the images to move back and forth slightly.

Lg glimmer touch screen not working

Alright most likely you are like me and keep your cell in your pocket or anywhere loose. What has happened is there is debris or water under the clear cover over the screen. Look at the front of your phone and peel the front right corner off the screen cover off....dont worry it will stick back on. On the top right corner there is a gold rectangle. Rub it a couple times until you see the touch screen moving...these are the sensors. Place the clear screen back on. This should help. Hope this works for you...it did for me.

My LG Dare's touch screen does not respond

I had the same problem and from what I did, the screen is pressing against itself and is holding the position on the phone. I took a piece of tape and pressed it to the screen to loosen it. This is only a temporary fix and I will need to get a new phone today. This is a defect in older models (mine is from august) so they should replace it for free if you are stil under the one year warranty.

My motorola e6 touch screen is not working

Hi Guys,

This is in response to the query you have posted in one forum.
I'm not sure if you guys have already got the solution for it.

I also faced the same problem and I could fix it.

It looks like the problem happens when the touchscreen connections to the PCB becomes loose.
You may follow the below procedure to rectify the problem
- Open the back cover and remove the battery.
- Cut a thick paper in the shape of the bettery slot and place it under the battery.
- Close the cover after placing the battery. (You may feel it a bit difficult to close the cover.. but try ...)

This actually push the PCB to the touchscreen connections. Now check if you are facing any more issues..

Mine is working fine after I did this.

Thanks

Savin
