Question about Compaq (153515-001) Touch Pad
For my Compaq presario v2036 model touchpad is not working, when i disassembled my motherboard i probably not sure i would have taken the ribbon cable dislodged with motherboard but now when i realised my touchpad was not working due to the dislodging the touchpad ribbon cable. Can you please help me in attaching the touchpad ribbon cable again back to the motherboard.Iam not sure where this ribbon cable should be connected on motherboard?? Pls let me know if are aware of this problem. Thanks
Putting those back right is impossible to tell.
first off removing it, one can wreck the connector done wrong
never do this until you get trained how by a real tech.
or you can damage so easy its not funny.
this is a relic, pc
HP does not have a service manual on it now
so be very hard to show you that page, ever.
add a USB mouse and forget that touch pad, or make it worse.

Microsoft Windows Vista

Hope this helps. Please rateyour feedback!

you may need to reinstall the synaptic driver for the touchpad.get it on the compaq site, search your laptops model and get the touchpad driver
if that doesnt fix it it may be faulty wiring in the touch pad, take it to a technician to check it otu

Try this website to down load a .pdf manual for your laptop.
Look closely at the touch pad, in the top left hand corner of the pad you should see a little white led shining away.
Tap the led twice, it should turn orange, you've disabled your touch pad, to re-activate it, tap it twice again, this should bring the white led back on.
