Hello: Yes there are speakers built into this monitor. You will have to use the audio jack that came with your monitor. I am asumming one came with it, if not you will need to purchase one from a hardware store, it has earphone type jacks on both ends, one end plugs into the audio input on the back center of the monitor, and plug the other into the audio output jack on the back of your computer the Green hole.. Or if your computers video card supports HDMI you can use this type of connector, as it is all digital and carrys picture and sound. If you already have the cable connected and have no sound, try going into the monitors menu and selecting factory Reset. This will set the unit back to out of the box condition..

When i mentioned an audio cable, the cable could be any color as long as it has jack inputs on both ends of it. On the back of most computers there are three to four inputs and outputs for sound, connect the cable to the green output of the sound port on the back of the computer and the other end to the monitor audio in jack. On the computer it will be labeled audio out or sound out. This output jack is usually green in color.

These monitors are one of those with speakers built in. Inspect the unit. There should be a separate cable that should go to the output of the CPU or any device that you are connected to. Normally it should be light green in color and should go to the same colored port. If you are connecting this to a CPU, check if the sound card is enabled (via control panel) and the master volume is not on zero or mute.

I just bought an X223W LCD monitor for my computer and there's no sound. My previous audio cable has no place to plug into this monitor. How am I supposed to get sound?

Your previous monitor had built-in speakers. The Aces LCD monitor do not have built-in speakers, therefore you need to purchase external speakers and plug these into your computer.

I can not tell in my monitor has speakers

Most monitors do not have built in speakers and the ones that do have them are usually of fair quality. Look for speaker grills under your monitor's screen. Didn't find speaker grills? You can buy computer speakers at a computer store or at Walmart. Your computer, desktop or laptop, has a green jack that you plug a set of speakers into. The volume control may be on the speakers or on your keyboard.

No sound through external speakers

Although some monitors have built in speakers, most people have stand alone speakers. If the old monitor had built in speakers and now it is unplugged you won't hear sound. Even if the speaker cable is still plugged into the sound output on the back of your computer, the monitor must be plugged into an electrical outlet to have power.

I'd recommend buying a new set of external speakers if this is the situation.

If you never had speakers built into the monitor then normally changing monitors would make no difference whatever. The only explanation that makes sense under those conditions is that in the process of replacing the monitor, you dislodged the speaker jack from the sound output on the back of the computer.

Make sure your external speakers have electrical power plugged in, the power is on (green light on at least one speaker lights up) and the volume on the speakers is at least half way up.

Unplug the speaker from whatever hole it is plugged into and plug it firmly back in and test sound.

If still no sound other than some static on the speakers, try every single hole on the back of the computer that the jack will fit properly and test for sound.

Let me know if you have further questions.

No sound from built in speakers

the built in speakers on the monitor are only speakers, they are not run through the video signal cable and have to be connected separately.
many monitors with speakers provide a stereo cable in the package but dont tell what the cable is for.
If there is a cable provided there will be a small jack on the monitor that connects to audio out on the sound card.
There may also be a stereo plug combined with the video cable, that likewise connects to audio out.
If the hardware is connected, there may be a volume control on the monitor that may be muted.
If the problem is a recent thing for a system that previously had working sound with this monitor, try the mute on the audio settings

You need to get a set of powered computer speakers!

I always found that stand alone speakers are much better than the ones in the monitor.
