The OFFICIAL name of the string is "Dial Cord".

Search with google for that name in quotes. A bunch of sources come up.

I got a yamaha FG180 guitar from a friend with only 2 strings on, so I shall put new strings on it, but I can't figure out the system on this one. How to put the strings on?

seems to be a standard acoustic setup to me. If it doesn't have all the string pins in it, you'll need to get some. you simply pull out the pin, put the string in, then wind it up on the machine heads (tuners) On this one you may need to put the strings through from the inside, I'm not sure about this particular model. I like a double wrap to start on the bass strings, but that's a choice I make. You could go with nylon strings, get ball end, they're easier to use than plain. It takes a bit of know how to do plain, thy have to be wrapped just right on the pins.

How do you change the strings on a Hofner Shorty travel guitar?

On the Hofner Shorty, you will need to manually remove the bridge with a screw drive or similar tool. There are large screws on either side of the bride that when removed, the bridge will come off entirely. At this point, you can unwind the strings from the tuners on the head of the guitar, which will completely slacken the strings. Push the strings out the back side of the bridge to remove the old string, and insert the new strings via the same hole in the corresponding order they were removed. Make sure all new strings are looped through the bridge, then set the bridge in place. At this time, with all the strings hooked in and the bridge set in place, you can now attach the strings to the tuners.

How change strings gibson guitar?

One of the best was to keeping your guitar in tune, is to also string it correctly and use new strings . Make sure the first winding of a new string around the tuner post goes over the exposed tip of the new string. The rest of the windings go under the exposed tip of the string. This will keep the string clamped firmly in place. Use 4-5 turns around the post for unwound strings, 2-3 for wound strings, in a downward spiral towards the bottom of the post as shown in the photo.-Tom, 30yr player.

My tuner reads D when it should be on E. It is set for 440. Please help. Thx

Test on another guitar first... If it only happens on yours, then you guitar MAY have a resonance in the neck or bridge that cross couples to your D string that MAY be the strongest vibration which the tuner is looking for. Try damping your D string while tuning the E strings by placing a finger on the D string to quiet the D..

My tele tuners have a slot in the tuners. I am

Usually you have either loops or little metal spools in loops at the end of the strings. The little spools are put down into the slots to secure the strings. If your old strings have the spools, you can remove them and put into your new strings.

One string broken, how to refit it?

Sorry Dude
If you can not replace a broken string, then you need a few lessons from a friend.Find a pal to jam with.
It sounds like you broke your E string. Take it down to the local music shop. Buy a new string and ask the guy to put it on for you. Offer them a tip, its worth it.I could tell you. But you need the string so ask for assistance and see it in 3D. Keep on playing DFD

No instructions for a yamaha erg 121 c electric guitar

i don't really know what instructions you expected, although you should have received something for the tuner and amp. I suspect that you are new to playing the guitar, as, I don't wish to sound disrespectful, you would know what to do! So first, and again I hope not to sound like I'm treating you like a dummy, plug the guitar into the tuner input. Or if It's a piezo tuner clamp it to your headstock. Most tuners are now automatic so it should pick up on the string you are striking.Repeatedly pluck the same string til the tuner changes colour, or flashes, or some other indication to tell you the string is at pitch. Repeat the above for all 6 strings.
Then plug the cable into the amp input, switch it on, and bugger about with the controls til you get a half decent sound. ( thats what the rest of us do).Don't expext too much from this package, it is budget level, but of quite good overall quality.hope this helps
