Handle I have 250 of these microwaves that were installed in our apartments in 1997 and 1998. They all still work and look great. The problem is that the handle is not made anymore, so every time a handle breaks I have to change the whole microwave. Neither the 4359046 (white) or the 4359051 (black) handles exist anywhere. Any suggestions?

That's correct the door has to come apart. Just be careful that screen is actually a choke to keep in any microwave radiation. Put everything back exactly as you took it apart.

Look really good on inside of door. You should be able to remove the inner panel and then have access to bolts for the handle? If not... Epoxy is your best friend at this point! Good luck!

You should be able to buy only the door handle and avoid having to replace the entire door. Appliancepartspros.com carries the handle. Just type in the model number you provided and look for item #3 under the parts listing. The part number and price varies based on the color you need. Make sure you order the correct color. To access the door handle mounting screws on MOST microwave ovens, you have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. You can use a small screwdriver to carefully pry the plastic up and work your way slowly around the perimiter of the glass. Most microwave ovens also have grooves in the panel that you can insert the screwdriver into. Use care not to pry against the glass. The glass is tempered and also has an RF shield that prevents harmful microwaves from potentially harming the consumer. If you break the glass, you will need to purchase a new door.

The door handle screws are located behind the inner panel. Simply remove the broken handle and install the new one. Re-insert the inner door panel carefully and gradually work your way around the perimeter of the door glass and make sure it snaps back into place.

If you want to replace the handle, get the new handle and see how the new handle goes on and you can determine how to take off the old handle.

You remove door latch (nr 3 on diagram) first, then you unscrew the screw nr .8 and remove handle (nr.7).

If you're replacing the handle, then order the choke cover..It's the piece on the inside of the door that covers the handle screws. No matter how carefull you are, it is almost guaranteed to break. If you break it, then you have one, and if not, send it back. DO NOT OPERATE MICRO WITHOUT CHOKE COVER.

All my micros had the screw go through the handle into the micro...no need to take door apart, just screw it back in. Why would you need to take the door apart?
