start >run>regedit
go to: REGEDIT - registry editor
When in registry editor: HKEY_CURRENT_USER – right click for permissions
Advanced Security Settings under 1st tab permissions
You will probably get this error message, "You can't remove restricted because this object is inheriting permissions from its parent.
To remove restricted, you must prevent this object from inheriting permissions. Turn off the option for inheriting permissions, and then try removing RESTRICTED again.
· Unclick: include inheritable permissions from this object’s parent

· Click Remove inherited parent permissions

Continue – delete restricted
Once removed,
Follow this path in registry editor:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\software\classes\.html
Right click (Default)
Change value data from (in my case Chrome – it could be Firefox as well):
From: ChromeHTML To: htmlfile
From: FirefoxHTML To: htmlfile
Repeat steps for .htm, .shtml, .xht if they exist
