Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You can not upgrade to Windows 7 for free legally.

At this time, Microsoft no longer even sells windows 7. Some dealers may still have it in stock, but it's no longer for sale.

The 25 digit code actually comes with the cd and is not on the cd but is a yellow label that was in the box when it was purchased.
I would go back to the person who gave it to you and ask them for that label. My guess is the disk came with a computer that has the windows sticker on the side and that is why you do not have the license number.
Unfortunately the only way to get a legal license is to buy it.

Hello,

Your license is still valid but you have to call Microsoft ( 1-800-805-4440) and provide them your product id so that they can generate the a new windows XP key for you or may be they will offer you Windows 7. Anyhow, you do not have to buy a new Windows XP key.

I have two copies of XP Pro and one COA is being used, one will be used today, and I need one more COA for another PC I want to format. How can I get a (legal) COA, without neccesarily buying a disk? I...

buy a COA from ebay, family member or friend. you don't need to buy a installation disk. If you've 100 COA and only one installation disk it fulfills the legal requirement. However be careful, buy only OEM COAs, not HP, Toshiba or other allocated firm's COAs. Otherwise the key'll not work.

Computer keeps trying to install XP professional

First of all Hello

Is it win XP pro of office pro :) anyways i think you meant office professional :)

if its xp pro
Do you have a Cd or an image containing xp pro mounted? If so that is why you are getting this problem. Make sure remove any CD's from the drive.

if its office pro and you have multiple accounts on your computer do this :)
It might be that you are using office as a user of your PC and NOT as administrator in which case it means you have to go back to your administrator profile and make a FULL INSTALL (all features installed on my computer) of OFFICE professional and the problem goes.

I hope that this fixya helped you :)
