I have forgotten my answer to blackberry recovery password question

1: Have the user install Desktop Manager 4.7

2: Have the user open a command prompt and type the following and hit Enter: CD X:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

(Where X is the letter assigned to the root drive. 99% of the time it will be C:\ but it can be verified by double-clicking on My Computer.)

3: Once you are at the above path, connect the device and type the following in the command prompt and hit Enter : loader.exe /resettofactory

4: ***Note: If the Application Loader wizard appears, the switch was not typed correctly, cancel it and retry the command ensuring it's typed correctly***

5: ***Note: If the device has a password, another command prompt window will open requesting the password. Exhausting the number of Password Attempts will trigger a Wipe but it will not remove the IT Policy. ***

6: After entering the correct password and hitting Enter, Application Loader will proceed to wipe the device, including the IT Policy. All data will be erased!

Good Luck!

Cant get my ball to work

usually all blackberry phones with ball trackers experience this type of problem due to overuse

if you can fix it on your own,do it with care cause some parts are to sensitive.

* need a T6 screw driver

* open and unscrew all sides where the screws are located

* locate the track ball and dismantle it

* clean and align the board interface which the ball tracker is attach..

* assemble it with care....DONE

good luck....

I will press the button "a" and it types "ou", my buttons are just all mixed up also my send button types out "jk"

This problem is caused by contamination UNDER the trackball. Its picked up from sticky/oily fingers operating the tracker ball. Fix:- 1. Checkout web for videos on dismantling the case (easy, but you WLL need a T4 (or is it T5?) multi-point screwdriver (ebay))
2. After accessing the PCB, unclip the tracker ball (magnifying glass and small screw driver). This lifts out as a single assembly.
3 .The area of the PCB reviled under TB now needs cleaning with a cotton wool swab, soaked in a de-greasing solution. DONT use water (even soapy), as this is slow to dry. Use - IPA (Isopropyl alcohol) - safeclens - surgical spirit etc. These will not harm circuit board or components, but MAY affect some plastics. Test small area if unsure The underside of TB assy and ball should also be cleaned. A clean swab damped in mild soap solution can be used to do general cleanup of dirt on white keyboard membrane, case edge grooves etc. allow to evaporate
DONT touch degreased areas with fingers as this will re-contaminate
4. Allow solution to evaporate (around 1 Min.)
5. Re-assemble tracker ball (clicks into position) Re-assemble case using on-line video (step 1)

My tracker ball is not working is there any other way to move the highlighted bar around the screen???

Sounds like you have a broken trackball. Go to your carrier, they might replace it for you for free. If they refuse, the only way to get it up and running again is to open your blackberry2_bing.gif to physically replace the part. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry curve Repair Guide that shows how, the part is available on Ebay.

None of the keys on my blackberry curve work . i can scroll using the tracking ball , but other then that nothing works .

Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone.
"Remove the battery and sim when mobile is turned on - Re-insert battery and sim and check "
Still if you have same issue Install Blackberry Device Software.

1.Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open
BlackBerry Desktop Manager application
2. Double-click Application Loader.
3. Click Next to start the installation process.
4. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click
OK.
5. Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want
to load, and then click Next
6. Click Advanced, and then select the check boxes beside Erase all
application data and Erase all currently installed applications
7. Click Next.
8. Click Next > Finish.
9. When the process is completed, the message, The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Close to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

I Hope this information wil fix this issue

Blackberry curve 8300 suddently died

Try somebody else's battery, if the problem persists, it's most likely a logic board issue. There are blackberry repair websites that show you how to do the replacement yourself, otherwise here is a service that can repair any Blackberry Bold, Storm, Pearl, Curve, 8800 for screen, lenses,
track balls, usb ports, waterdamage etc.
The website is: Blackberry Repair

My blackberry will not let me click on anything

Usually the button membrane under the track ball goes bad. If you're out of warranty try to remove the trackball and push the membrane back in place, clean it if necessary. There is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry and remove the track ball yourself. Once it is open it's as easy as peeling the membrane off the logic board, scratching its bottom with a flathead screwdriver. There are also third party blackberry repair services that will do this for you.
