Question about Compaq Evo N610C Notebook
The pc was working normally until Sunday night. I switched it on as usual , the Compaq screen came up followed by another screen apologizing for the inconvenience etc and gives a number of options including start windows normally. I tried this and I get the windows screen, a quick flash of a blue screen, then it goes back to the Compaq screen and then the "We apologize" screen.
The message on the blue screen says "Unbootable Mount Volume", what does this mean and how do I get the PC to work?.
I had the same prob with my brothers laptop the other day.
to fix:I put copy of xp in drive and booted up pressing F8 to choose option start from cd.
when setup starts instead of choosing repair disk choose setup new.once system analyses that there is already os installed ;choose repair .this roughly about the same time as install fresh copy only it has your previous personal files and software still intact.this way works.trust me.
