I did run disk, but I am sure I did it with the router attached. Should I run the router Wizard first from my Control panel?

Did you run the router install disk on the computer first? Then plug the router into the computer w/cable and you should get an automated process.

You can run the wizard to guide you automatically. If that does not work, the default ip address is 192.168.1.1 which you will type into the address bar (not the search bar) at the top of your browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, or whatever). You will be asked for the user name and password which are usually blank, and "admin" respectively - but your instructions will have that. Then you will get a start up page and you should have the choice to do automatic setup.

Need help putting a password on my linksys

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.

Router Dell-Wireless 2350 (Linksys)

First try to check if your router is really configured correctly. Then try to check your banwidth, because bandwidth can also make your computer freeze. Then check also your cable if it is ok. Then try also to check the disk space in your computer because if your disk space is full or almost full it can also make your computer to freeze.
