Question about THQ Paws & Claws: Dogs and Cats Best Friends for DS

1 Answer

About 4 years ago I adopted a nine month cat from the Humane Society. He was very fearful and unloving so no one was interested in him. That broke my heart and I decided that he needed love too. So I brought him home, with time and a ton of patience he has become very loving with me and has provided me with lots of returned love. However one problem area still remains; he is terrified of other people, will not allow anyone to pick him up or cut his nails and will only sit on my "lap" if I am supine and reading! If I go to pet him while standing he is beginning to allow it but is obviously fearful and cringes. I have not way to get him to a vet if he gets ill as he will claw and bite if I try to pick him up. Any suggestions? I understand his fear and have strong suspicions as to what was done to him but need a way to help him trust me's been over 3 1/2 years!?! Thanks for your time. Jaci Eskridge

Once bitten twice shy...and it sounds like he was beaten quite a bit. Poor thing. It makes me want to find the person/people and...
It sounds like he's not going to ease up any time soon. The only way he'll trust anyone other than you is for others to come over quite frequently, and not to touch him,or even look at him, while they are there.
This is the only way that he won't see them as a threat. Eventually,(hopefully) he'll start to accept the fact that not all humans are bad.
As for trusting you may never happen.
I adopted a cat years ago that was the same way. He hated everyone equally...however I think I was his favourite as he left hairballs under my pillow.
I bought him a teddy bear and he took to it almost right away. After a few years he started to sleep on my bed with his bear. He passed away at the age of 17...never having changed his attitude towards humans.

I have a reference number for a police case against a breeder that posted an ad. How do I get to customer support so I can get them to give the person's info to the police?

Depends where the ad is? Access their contact link or customer service and send them an note or email describing the details of your accusation. If they will not help you at the ad site then give the police 'their' information and their response from your request so that the police can investigate from there. Also, the humane society could be contacted or the animal related association. They should all be interested in animal abuses or misrepresentation of sales, etc.

I need to take my 11 yr old cat to vet and looking for one in las vegas nv that is low cost or will take payments . I am on a very small fixed income.

The Humane Society is usually low cost. You might be right about the depression. Give your kitty extra attention, treats and something you know he loves to eat, maybe raw chicken or beef.
I hope you've found a vet, kitty needs to be looked at. Good luck to you both.

Does someone know where to operate my dog so it doesnt have babies in Garland,Tx

Any veterinary office can take care or this, though it would be best to call 3-4 to get the best price. If you need a suggestion, call the Humane Society office in your area.

Is gofundme a legitimate site?

The site is legit but many of the requests are not. Example: a cat was hit by a car and buried by its owner. After a few days it clawed out and went to a neighbor. She took it to a vet who told her its treatment would be covered by a fund for severely injured animals. She created a GFM for "Zombie Cat." Now the case is going to court as the owner, the neighbor, and the Humane Society are each claiming ownership of the cat and the funds. ($3,000+)

I bought a fryer from poundstretcher 9 months ago and it broke what are my rights

Depends on what you paid for it. If it was less than 20 pounds you may only expect it to work for a limited period, if you paid more than 30 pounds you would expect it to work for at least a year or more. Return it to the shop and say it is unfit for purpose and not of merchantable quality. The decision is down to the shop but if they do not want to agree to a replacement or a refund (possibly minus some money for nine months of use), report them to trading standards.

Sorry to hear about your precious loss. It is soo hard to tell not knowing the history of your kitty. When any cat "seems" sick you must take them to the vet because kitties hide their sickness. So when you see any changes in your kitty, not eating, change of routine, sleeping longer, sneezing, coughing ANYTHING, it's always best to take kitty in.

Now how long have you had kitty? where did the kitty come from? I had adopted a kitty from a rescue. She was perfect to me then 6 months later she didn't come to my bedroom door as she always did. I checked on her and she didn't eat and was sleeping so I took her in to one vet. They gave her medicine and she didn't improve so the following day I took her to another vet my rescue recommended who deals with cats from the streets. She was tested and hospitalized. She had FIP - Feline infectious peritonitis

I had a choice to either put her down or take her home until she gets sick again which could be just days. I was advised the best thing was to put her to sleep. It was a horrible day so I know how you much be feeling. No one will know what ever happened to your kitty until you took her to the doctors for test. I hope you will adopt a kitty in the future but in the meantime clean/wash everything kitty touched just in case. Always take kitty to the vet yearly to get checked. You could save hundreds and thousands of dollars with preventative medicine.

My current kitty goes in yearly. I took him 2 years ago and I was told he was pre-kidney so he immediately went on a wet food diet. A year later he was no longer pre-kidney disease. he is coming up on his 3rd year now and I hope he didn't progress. SO PLEASE TAKE KITTY YEARLY because it would have cost tons more and even the lost of his life.

My 9 yr old cat is eating less and less all the time, some vomiting of yellow bile and minimal bowl movements to none. Have tried to give him soft food and he eats it, have used hairball gel on his paw so...

mcdevito75 here, There has to be an ASPC or Animal Humane society in your area, Ask the Operator over your phone and contact them, that"s the best bet, Most services FREE or greatly reduced on Vet bills. Hope this helps, hope your cat will be ok.
