Question about Dell Latitude C400 Notebook
When I power on, THe 3 leds (caps lock, num lock scoll lock) blink, the power led is on, the disk starts, and then nothing happens. THe power led stays on ferever. The battery is charged, and that happens in all combinations battery/power cord. I reset the memory, took all the devices out (wifi, hard disk) I even change the memory, and it doesn't change anything.
I really need help, this machine was working ok, the sidk si ok (took out and chkdsk on another computer)
The button cells provide a total of 7.2 volts. Ordering the battery pack is expensive.
The batteries can be bought individually and soldered for about $5
bucks. I had to replace mine and then reflash the BIOS.

Have you tried checking the voltage of the "button cell" found inside the laptop, It's like a button cell found inside desktop computers ... It might be dead already, this causes BIOS of the computer to freeze when that is dead. Sometimes it if found under the keypad, If not... well I guess you have to open the entire case and look for it..
It should be 3Volts, if not it needs replacement.
I hope and pray that this will help...

It could very well be a problem with a blown fuse/capacitor within the power supply, since these things are smaller it would be a good idea to take it to a local tech to have it opened up and checked out.
