I have a Creative Vision M MP3 player. When hooked up to computer the unit shows it's docked. However when I click on program I get a message stating that unit is not hooked up to computer. I can not add songs or do anything on player via computer. What's causing this?

Yes I tried by removing/re-installing software on the two computers I have, with the same results. No luck trying that.

Lee this is David again, with the Vision M player. I've had the player three years. This problem started back around the first of the year.

There could be a lot of possibilities at this point. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the creative software? how long have you owned the product and how long have you had this problem. There is a lot of troubleshooting that will need to be done so we can isolate the problem. Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thank you,

There may be an internal problem with the player. You said you this happens on multiple computer? When you have gotten it to connect did you try the mp3 recovery tool available from creative? Also you may want to consider having the unit diagnosed by an independent professional. Creative basically only does warranty repairs. Here is an example of an independent repair service site:
    Thank you,

My creative zen m is not showing up on my laptop when i hook it up it don't show up at all i download the zen thing for it just not showing up

Sometimes, for reasons unknown, one setting changes in the Zen Media Explorer. If you can't see your Zen, But can see your media explorer, open it and then click on the tools tab. You should see a checkbox saying, "show my player as portable device". Re-check this box, close and re-open my computer and it should be there.

I cannot figure out how to hook my creative vision to computer

A manual for Zen Vision M on this site:
There should be:
1. an adaptor to put in the bottem sleeve of the player
2. a cable one side mini format USB for connection to the adaptor
and the other side normal format USB to fit into your computer
[see page 7 of the pdf manual]
If not provided you should contact the seller.

Problem transferring MP3s to Zen Vision 30GB

I have a Zen Vision M 30G, and this is what worked for me.(Widows XP home Edition. First you're going to want to transfer all your files back to your PC to back them up. I've found that even though you can't transfer from your PC to Zen, you can transfer from Zen to PC. Connect your player, and after your Pc recognizes it go to My Computer>click on your player, it should show up as "storage media.">then you right click on it, then select "reformat." A warning should pop notifing that you will lose all you data. Click yes, It should take less than a minute to complete. So essentially you have just wiped your Mp3 player's hard drive clean. Now transfer all your backed up files back to your player.
