This can be due to the bad RAM or else the capacitor problem on the motherboard of your computer. You can solve the issue by changing the display capacitor on the motherboard. Get it done by a good technician who has knowledge on chip level problem solving.

No display

Hello,

The Viewsonic VG1921wm monitor uses the same power supply board that the Optiquest Q19w uses. When that monitor has display problems like you are having the most common cause is bad capacitors on the power supply board. When the capacitors go out the power board does not put out the correct voltages to drive the back light circuits and the driver circuits so you get no display. There is a very good chance that this is the problem with your unit and it would be worth having a look at the power supply board. Here is a link to a repair guide for the Optiquest monitor and since they use the same power supply board it should help you check you board and show what needs to be replaced to repair it.

I hope this helps.

Hp monitor has vertical yellow line. Is this dead pixels and not repairable? Have checked all cards and cables. Line is permanent.

Unfortunately, your display problem is not repairable, except by replacing the display panel itself. What's happened is that something in the electronics built in to the display panel has failed, and it's keeping that column of pixels stuck on all the time. There isn't any way to get at those electronics to repair them, so the only cure is a new display.

This kind of defect would be something that the manufacturer would fix if the monitor was still under warranty. Yours is probably out of warranty, but it can't hurt to check your owner's manual or the HP website, and see if there's any hope. If your monitor is past any warranty, it's time to look for a replacement.

I wish I had a more positive answer. Thanks for using Fixya anyway!

I have 2 2006 VX910 LCD display monitors no display at all

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Horizontal black line in monitor display

Yes, it can ve repaired. The problem is if it will be cost effective. I would hook up another monitor just to rule out the video card. It probably is not the video card...but be safe.

LCD monitors are very easy to repair...and I would suspect the LCD itself...

Let me know if you need a source to purchase the LCD...you will price it yourself and determine if it would be cost effective.

If you have a CRT monitor...junk it...definetly too costly to repair abd parts are scarce.

Good luck to you my friend.

most likley the monitor has an internal power supply failure, generally the cost of repair could be higher than buying a new one.If your monitor is still in its warranty period contact the manufacturer,if not do you know of a local tv repair shop that provides free estimates to confirm cost of repair vs. replacement?
