Status light won't come on

Had paper jam in the rear. Upon removing it, the front green status light went out and will not come back on. I checked the cables and turned the power button and computer off and on but the light will not come on and it will not print. Message says it is off-line.. Hope you can help --- I love this printer!

I would never use a screw driver or any sharp instruments in equipment. I only used my fingers and it came out relatively easily --- no tears or visible fragments left in the machine....Hope you have another solution.

13.20.00 paper jam. But there is no paper in the system. I checked from all sides but there is no paper in it. I restarted to check if the paper path is cleared but no change.

13.20.00 JAM INSIDE <LOCATION>

Paper has not moved past a certain paper
sensor. <LOCATION> can be one of the
following locations.

? TRAY 2
Remove the tray, and then check the
paper path for obstructions. Perform a
manual sensor test and observe the prefeed
sensor (PS102) status (B). Toggle
the sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? TOP COVER
Remove the print cartridge, and then
check the paper path for obstructions.
Verify that the top-of-page sensor
(PS103) and the media width sensors
(PS106 and PS108) are unblocked.
Perform a manual sensor test and
observe the status of these sensors.
Toggle the sensor flags to determine if
their status changes.
? REAR DOOR
Open or remove the rear face-up bin,
and then check the paper path on each
side of the fusing assembly for
obstructions. Remove the fuser, if
necessary. Perform a manual sensor
test and observe the fuser delivery
sensor (PS700) status (C). Toggle the
sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? DUPLEXER (only printers with duplex)
Remove the duplexer, and then check
the paper path for obstructions. If the
message persists, replace the duplexer.

On the front of the printer Lexmark E120 a picture of paper with a corner folded down. Printer wont print and there is no paper jam, what does that one mean?

The picture of paper with a corner folded down is Load/Remove paper. Can you describe the status lights of the printer? The light sequence will indicate specific error and status of the printer.

For further assistance, please contact Lexmark Technical Support.

Printer stops when printing should begin with red light in status

There is a few reasons that cause the status light to turn red, paper jam, paper empty, toner cartridge empty, cover open and waste toner cartridge full. The PC Smart panel utility should give you an exact fault condition. Hope this helps.

Phaser 6110 - red light on, not printing

Just had user with same problem. Printer status = paper jam but no paper in feed path therefore suspect paper pick up problem. Asked user to take out paper tray and turn paper in tray over. This solved problem.
So possible fix = turn paper over or try different paper.
If printer is old try cleaning pickup roller. My users printer had only done 227 pages.

New HL-5240 printer red status light upon powering up

My HL-5240 did the same thing, Here is what I found:

Look at the back of the printer. Pull down the back cover. Look to the right and the left of the exposed internals of the printer and there should be another handle/knob you can pull down. Pull these both down simultaneously and check to make sure there isn't a piece of paper in there! This was a shock to me! My office printer was held up for days until I found this hidden door in the back! I felt like an idiot that it was from a stupid paper jam!

Help please. can't print: paper light flashing even though there is paper in printer

To fix the NON EXISTANT paper jam:

Status light is on, paper light is on - you can hear the paper feed trying to "grab" the paper, but it can't,  and status light goes Red.

Take out paper tray

Reset the blue paper holders, move them tight against the paper so the paper is snug against all blue barriers. Cause: Somehow the blue paper holders got dislodged and the paper is not snug so the feeder is trying to grab paper that  is slightly out of reach.
