My scroll wheel skips, jumps, scrolls backward or on its own. Can I fix it?

Take the roller ball out of the bottom of your mouse if it's the older style and clean the dirt and dust of the roller wheels with a q tip and alcohol. If it is an optical mouse try putting a piece of white paper under it when you use it this may help. If not it is time for a new one.

I accidentally downloaded a duplicate audio on a mac

I assume you are talking about an audio application you downloaded. Click on your desktop to bring up the Finder and other things on the top of your screen. Go to the word "Go" and scroll down to Applications. Open that up and the list on the right will list all of your applications. Scroll down until you find your audio application. If there are two of them. Highlight the one you do not want. Go to "File" on the top of your screen and scroll down to Move to Trash.

Have a Satellite P 305D-S9800; scoll bar will not pull down by mouse or touch pad; as soon as I let go it jumps back to the top please help

The "Touchpad is very sensitive; if you look while scrolling, the "scroll-bar" will turn (Blue), click on the ("scroll-bar"), until it turn "Gray." Note: "You ca use the Pointer Device / Touchpad without using the Scroll-bar, basically anywhere on the screen; ("bottom scroll-pad" = left to right"), and ("right -side edge scroll-pad = up & down").

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0 Scrolling has gone awry

This may not be a solution for you but at least it may explain the cause of the problem. I recently had the same problem - the scroll wheel suddenly began to go crazy, jumping all the way to the bottom or the top of a document, or randomly skipping around. The unit was still under warranty, and Microsoft sent me a new mouse. Since they did not require me to return the old mouse, I decided to take it apart to see if I could find the problem. I found poorly soldered electrical joints to the optical sensor & LED which convert the scroll wheel movement to electrical signals. After I resoldered these connections the mouse worked fine again.

Autoscroll

Try simply using a system restore to before the problem started acting up. Also, you can try going into the mouse properties (Start Menu, Control Panel for Xp) and look for scrollsettings there, which may allow you to turn off certain mouse features (aka. if gestures are enabled it might be conflicting with scrolling).
Hope this helps.
