Your treadmills needs a motor controller. It could probably use some belt lubricate also. The heat that's created from the friction of the walking belt and the board under it causes an extra drag on the motor. The control board sends more power to the motor to make up for the loss of speed. This will eventually kill the controller. So lubricating could be a key factor to not damaging a new control board right away. Hopefully this helps.
