Question about Panasonic TC-32LX85 LCD TV

1 Answer

Red LED 3 times flashing, nothing else

I have a similar problem to those seen on other panasonics. Power does nothing except produce a red LED blinking 3 times. Other posts for other TVs recommend changing two ICs (STK392-XXX). I can't find anything labelled anything close to STK392 on this particular TV. Nothing else seems out of the ordinary in the TV...the fuse on the power board is fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

On Panasonic 32LX TVs this is a known fault, repairable by a firmware upgrade. John Lewis in the UK sent out an engineer under their 5 yr TV guarantee and completed the firmware upgrade for me. The only other store to compare with them for price and service is Richer Sounds but I believe you now have to buy the warranty for 10% of the purchase price. This problem will persist unless the upgrade is completed. For those of you in the UK, I would insist the seller (not manufacturer; your contract is with the seller) repairs the problem under the Sale of Goods and Services Act as the TV is not fit for purpose without the upgrade.

That is a known issue with the Panasonic plasma TV's, the flashing red light is a diagnostic light, you might hame issues with the internal power supply board.

MOST LIKELY problem is the convergence amps but.....
It might be your vertical or horizontal circuit...those initiate a 3 blink failure code too....

Hi Friends! I have a Panasonic TH-L32C20R. When

Something worth trying that worked for me and costs nothing is; remove all leads except the power lead. Hold the on/off button on the TV in until the light stops flashing, release button and and press again. If it fires up your good to go if not your nearly finished disconnecting everything ready to send off for repair! Good luck, BTW the number of flashes indicate a fault code that you can look up online.

Mysteriously stopped booting up

I hate when people just guess what is wrong at sites like this, but I'm "guessing" your power supply needs to be replaced. I've seen similar symptoms before. They're cheap and easy to replace. I'm 80% sure that will fix your problem. Just make sure it has the correct standard or SATA power connectors for your hard drive(s) and CD drive.

My Panasonic PT-60Dl54J tv shut itself off and the power button is now flashing red 6 times. What has happened, how do I fix it?

This is straight from the service manual (I'm not sure what the problem is but it sounds serious):

8.2. Power LED Flashing timing table
When an abnormality has occurred, the protection circuit operate and cuts the power supply. At this time, the defective line can be
identified by the number of flashes (red) of the power led indication at the front of the unit.
NUMBER OF FLASHES CIRCUIT MICRO PIN
1 LOAD SHORTAGE 92
2 OVER VOLAGE 93
3 FAN SOS 94
4 MAIN 3.3V 88
5 LAMP DISABLE 61
6 GC3FM-IIC IIC
7 GC3FS-IIC IIC
8 GC3I-IIC IIC
9 COLOR WHEEL STOP 110

remove back panel. blow out all the dust from all the components except the fan on the right.
Vacuum out all the dust.
Have you replaced the lamp? that would help too.
There are 2 small red lamp. One indicates HEAT problem. The other one is the LAMP indicator.

The TV shutdown error code can help you with this problem. If the power led flashes green for 2 Min's then red. The Lamp led should flash red 1-2-3 or 4 time every 5 Min's. These are error codes that may point you in the right direction to you problem.
