Hi There,
It could be a faulty charger. Try getting another one and try. Failing that it could be a faulty battery. Hope this helps...

Try turning it on with the battery without the charger. Then try turning it on with the charger without the battery. If it still doesn't turn on either way, it's already a problem with the laptop's motherboard. If your laptop is still in warranty, you should have it serviced. Otherwise you need to bring it to a repair technician.

Seems to be a problem of not enough power.

First check the voltage output of the charger(adapter) and match it with its specs.

Also try to reset the hardware using the following steps:

1 Disconnect battery and the charger
2 Let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
3 Press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
4 Reconnect battery and charger and try to start by pressing the power button.

Laptop will not turn on when i press the on

Normally, if the LCDs light momentarily and go off, then the system is not getting power from the AC adapter (Even if the light is on on the brick)
  1. If another Dell D-Series AC adapter is available, try it. if not check the output for the plug to the system for 19 volts DC, if no voltage, replace the adapter.
  2. Check the connection on the system for cracks or loose connection to the motherboard. If the connector is damaged, then the jack or the motherboard will need replacement
  3. If the system will not power on with a known good battery or AC adapter, then try these steps.

Hi i have a toshiba a135-s2386 laptop, when i press the power switch the main power light comes on and fan spins but the pc does not post at all

Try doing this: Turn off the computer. Disconnect your charger. Take out the battery. Then without the charger and the battery, press and hold the power button for around 10-15 seconds to drain all the excess power inside it. Reconnect your charger then turn it on. If it turns on, then good. You may put the battery back afterwards. If it did not turn on then it could either be software or hardware failure already.
