It turns on then turns off

Could be a loose solder connection under the flyback or other area. Could also be a component like a capacitor, resistor, diode, transistor or other one just starting to go bad.
You can test for a bad capacitor by using a blowdryer to heat the capacitors general area on the TV circuit boards. It will probablly be one around the flyback area or near where the TV cord runs in the TV. Be very careful doing this though. The back will have to be off and the TV on during or just before the problem normally would happen. Heating up bad capacitors makes them temporarily useful again until they cool down. This will help you narrow the problem.
A repairman can help you do the rest.

Have you ever had this problem?

Sorry Ginko, but a convergence problem would have the curves down from the top and up from the bottom. The hourglass shape is a pincushion problem. This can be as simple as a bad capacitor in the pincushion circuit.

Could you please confirm the model number so I can look up the probable part?

I could still make out 68 over 2kv on the burnt capacitor. Replaced with a 680 pf 2kv that I bought at a local TV repair shop. works great.

Have you ever had this problem?

Generally, pincushion may be driven by a chip or IC,but pin out is normally a durable xistor. Servicer adjustments are minor for pin correction.Go to pin out circuit & measure voltages.Get back to me on your findings.

RCA 32V430T 32" looses color

This problem could be caused by 1- a bad or dryed out capacitor, 2- a bad video jungle IC, or 3- problem in the eeprom circuit. Its not a repair a consumer can do without the proper equipment and parts. Your going to have to take the set into a repair shop to be diagnoised. Good Luck
