Hello

OK, first you need to balance the equation, thus:

11X - 10X = 17
1X = 17

Now you just divide 17 by 1, thus calculating x. X = 17

I found a link where you can download the manual for you calculator

Hello,
If you clean the expression you will find out that you need no calculator to get the solution.
11x=10x-17
11x -10x =10x -10x -17
1x=-17
The solution is x=-17.
Hope it helps.

There is a another way if you are adament on using the calculator to solve such a trivial problem. I am giving this solution because it may help others to use the solve ( function on the FX115ES, FX991ES and FX-300ES

1. Turn calculator ON

2. Type 11[*][ALPHA] [)] (X) [ALPHA] [CALC] (=) .

3. The symbol between parentheses is the one accessed by the key combination in square brackets []. The = sign in an algebraic relation is not the same as the one near the [ANS] key, on the last row of the calculator.

4. Continue by typing 10[*][ALPHA] [)] (X) - 17

5. Once the equality is entered press [SHIFT][CALC] (Solve)

6. You are prompted to Solve for X

7. Press [EXE]

8. Wait for the calculator to return with the solution.
For this case the calculator screen displays
11*X=10*X-17
X= -17
L-R= 0

L-R means that for X=-17, 11X- (10X-17) =0 .

While this exemple is trivial, the solve( function is very interesting to use to solve algebraic equations. The steps are identical to the ones in the exemple above.

• The default unknown for the calculator is X.

• You will be prompted for values of any symbol that is not X.

• You will be prompted for the values starting from the left. (first symbol will be prompted for before the others --- order of appearance in the equality).

• If you do not enter a value for a variable (Y) or a parameter, it will have the old value that is stored in it.

• You can use any expression but the only symbols you can use are X, Y, A, B,C,D ( all letters accessed with the [ALPHA] [Letter] combination.
Hope it helps.

OOPS: if you are adamant.

OOPS again. In numbered list # 7. Should be Press [=], not [EXE].

What is the X AND Y INTERCEPT for this equatin??? -11x+y=13

Y-intercept= value of y when x=0. This means y=13.
X-intercept = value of x when y= 0. Set y=0 in equation. This gives -11x=13. or x=-13/11

How do you enter the following equation on a Casio fx-300es calculator: X - 17 = 34

The calculator does not have an equation SOLVER. But to solve this equation or any linear equation you need no calculator. Use the properties of equalities to isolate the unknown.
X-17=34
X-17+17=34+17 (Adding the same number to both sides of an equality does not break the balance).
Since -17+17=0 and 34+17=51
You get X=51

I want to know how to solve the Cubic equation on TI-89 Calculator

There are a lot of ways to do it. One is to write a program using the cubic formula. If you just want the roots, use the solve() or zeros() functions.

For example, to find the zeros of x^2-6x^2+11x-6, enter
solve(x^3-6*x^2+11*x-6=0,x)
or
zeros(x^3-6*x^2+11*x-6,x)

Note that solve() has "=0" in it while zeros() does not.

solve() will give you an answer of
x=1 or x=2 or x=3
while zeros will give you an answer of
{1 2 3}
which plainly are the same thing, just expressed differently.

How do I get my calculater to and and simplify completely 5xto the third power over 6xyto the second power divided by 10x over 3xy to the fourth power for variable y

The calculator does not have a CAS (Computer Algebra System). Therefore it cannot do symbolic algebra. It can only calculate numerical values.

You can enter algebraic expressions with symbols (X, variable), Y, A,B,C,D, and M but they will just be evaluated with the current values of A, B,C,D, Y, and M. If you use the SOLV program the unknown variable must be X.

How to calculate this equation

I don't know of a calculator that can do that for you, its transposition, you have to get x on its own to find its value which in this case is 0.9

what you do to one side you do the oposite to the other for eg
if 10x+2+45-56=0 then
10x+2+45=56 we moved -56 over the = to make it +56 then
10x+2=56-45 then
10x=56-45-2 which is the same as 10x=9 then

10x means 10 multiplied by x, so to move the 10 over it becomes division.

x=9/10
x=0.9

TI-89 Factoring Not Working

I think what you want to do is not to factor but to expand, which is the option right under factor [F2, 3]. expand((x-5)^2) = x^2-10x+25
