It seems, Printhead has come loose or has gone corrupt.
Try reseating the printhead, do calibration. It should help you out.

1. Take both ink cartridges out.
2.Take printhead out
3. Wait for 10 seconds.
4. Put the Printhead back in.
5. Wait for 5 seconds.
6. Put the cartridges back in.
7. Go to Maintenance (Printer Conrol Panel or ? Help on your Home /Center software) and clean printhead.

NOTE: If issue still persists, pls contact kodak for printhead replacement.

SOURCE: Printer keeps asking for printer

Where is the error message shown? On the printer or on the computer? I think it's showing on the computer.

You can try this, Remove all the cartridges, memory card, unplug the power cord, disconnect the usb cable, unplug the power from the outlet (if you wish to clean the cartridges, you can clean the Gold contact with a cotton bud dampen with alcohol, don't ever touch the contacts or the head with your hand, also clean the contacts on the printer). After about 20 minutes, reinstall everything (if you have memory card installed, don't install it, you can do it later). Now press the Menu button on the printer and navigate the settings using the Left Arrow or Right Arrows until Reset All Menu Settings is visible in the front display. Press the OK button. A message will appear on the display confirming that all menu preferences have been reset.

If this doesn't help, try installing another cartridge/s and check the outcome.

It'll be also helpful to uninstall the drivers/software and reinstall them after the both the printer and the pc are restarted.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Printer performs toner alignment every time it is turned on

A friend of my faced the same issue years ago with another HP AIO printer. That model required you to scan that printout. In other case - firmware "thought" calibration is not completed and was printing out head alignment/calibration page every next time printer was turned on. You should check you printer manual for head alignment/calibration procedure...

My ribbon is coming out with the label. the front spindle is not rolling.

You have to calibrate the printer. It thinks there is no ribbon (thermal mode) so it's not winding the ribbon up. The instructions are on page 11 of the manual -
4.2 Ribbon Sensor Calibration
Note: Please make sure the ribbon is properly installed before doing this calibration.
Please follow the steps below to calibrate the ribbon sensor.
1. Turn the printer power off.
2. Press and hold the FEED button then turn on the printer.
3. The LED will turn orange then blink red 5 times. Release after the first red blink and before the 5rd.
4. If the ribbon is properly installed the light will turn green. If it is not it will turn red and blink.

Brady printer 2461 is receiving a message position fault. How can this be corrected?

If you are using die-cut and reflective media you have to perform a Positioning Calibration that sets the TOF and calculates the label length of the media. This process also calibrates the ribbon sensor on printers equipped with the thermal transfer option. To do this;
1) Turn ‘On’ and enter the media setup parameters in the Media Settings-Menu
2) Load media (and ribbon, if equipped with the thermal transfer option)
3) Calibrate the Media Sensor
4)
Press and hold the FEED key for approximately 4 seconds or until 2-3
labels advance. Upon completion, the ‘Ready’ message will be displayed.
Please ask if you need any further details.

I am trying to print a picture and my pic is coming out with lines through it. Any suggestions?

Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699
