No, Remove the Screws On the Front Bezel Of the Screen.. (there should be 4 One on each corner), Then you will need a thin plastic tool such as a guitar pick or thin credit card... Pry the front plastic bezel from the back cover starting at the top right corner.. THe Whole Front Bezel Is Held On By Snap Down Plastic Tabs... You Will Need To Slide The Plastic Tool Along The Entire Top Of The Screen At an Angle... Then Once the top is insnapped, Do the sides, Then The Bottom.. Front Bezel Is Now Off And You Should Have Full Access To The Display...

You will have to Unscrew the screen from the Hinges On THe Left And Right Sides... Usually 2 or 4 screws on each side then screen is removable

How much it will cost to replace a lcd screen with the short damage

Looks like you can do it yourself by purchasing a lcd screen on ebay brand new for $66.00 You can go to Acer's website and get your exact screen model (it probably doesn't matter, but if you want to get the exact same then just the model by using your serial number to get the original specifications). Or you can take the lcd screen apart and get the model off the back of the lcd screen.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for a place to enter your serial number for specifications. You might have to start with the Warranty area to find it.

To take the lcd screen apart is fairly simple. You would start by removing the plastic or rubber bumpers that are located on the plastic strip that goes around the lcd screen. Remove them with a real small flat head screw driver or an pin and then you will see the screws that hold it in place. remove the screws, remove the plastic strip by prying it apart with a little force and it will snap out. Then start removing the screws that hold the lcd screen to the brackets on the sides. Once you remove them, tilt the lcd screen forward and the screen will fall out into your hand. Use your hand to catch it because you don't want it to fall down on the keyboard or fall out too far because there is a cable on the back of it that you don't want to damage. You can remove the cable from the back of the lcd. Sometimes it might be secured with a piece of tape, so remove the tape to remove the cable.

If the lcd does not come out once you remove the screws from the side brackets then you might have to remove screws from the 4 corners that is holding it.

Below are some links to the screens.

Elonex "10.2 laptop frame broken (not the screen)

Try ebay. Just but in the search box "Elonex LCD Bezel". The are easy to replace. Most screws on the Bezel are hidden by a rubber bumper or something that you can use a safety pin or real small flat head screw driver to pry off.

How to replace LCD panel on Toshiba Satellite M105-S3004 Notebook?

Plastic Display Bezel is not as simpy as you think. It is made of space-age plastic.

Procedure is the same as for a Satellite M110 series, and M115 series Notebook PC,

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-M115/remove-inverter-replace-lcd-screen.htm

Just to add;

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-M105/take-apart-notebook-1.htm

After the Screw Covers are removed, and the screws, from the Display Bezel, the Bezel can be 'popped' off.

The Bezel has plastic protrusions, or tabs, extruded from it's plastic frame. These tabs snap into place in the Display Cover. (Top cover of laptop)

There are tabs formed on the inside edge of the Display Cover, that the tabs from the Display Bezel, snap into.

When I started years ago, I used a guitar pick to ease the Bezel up, so I could get my fingertips under it. (OUTSIDE edge of Bezel. Not inside edge where the LCD screen is)

Now I don a set of anti-static gloves, and ease the inside middle edge of the Bezel, (LCD screen side), up. Then I start working towards one corner, until this portion pops free, and then I go towards the other corner.

Once you work a side loose, and the bottom, the rest of the Bezel starts popping free.

Although the Display Bezel looks to be flimsy, as stated previously it is made of a space-age plastic. Pretty tough stuff, really.
Just go slow, and use care.

When you hear the tabs pop up for the first time, you may think you have broken something. Nope.
Just wanted to state to ease your mind.

Make SURE the LCD screen you are purchasing is THE correct one.
An LCD screen, and the screen Inverter, are a MATCHING pair.

Crossover the manufacturer name, and model number on the back of the LCD screen, to the new one.
Or go with the LCD screen replacement manufacturer's information. B

If so, be sure there is a Return option, if the new replacement LCD screen proves to be the wrong one

[ An LCD screen does not produce light. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight is a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. (Bulb)
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

(Some of the newer LCD screens use LED lights for a Backlight.
The Toshiba Satellite M105-S3004 Notebook PC, uses a CCFL for a Backlight)

A screen Inverter is used to convert the electricity (Power) from the laptop, for the Backlight, and the LCD screen ]

How do you remove the plastic back from prolite e2200ws I have removed the 5 screws but moulding still does not wish to move.d

These are held together with plastic tabs. You will need to start in one corner and gently pry the case apart. GENTLY is the key. Most often, the front piece has the tab that fits into a little slot on the back of the case, so when you pry it off, you will actually be using a motion that bends the front of the bezel a little toward the center of the screen and pushes the bottom outward. Work your way around the screen.

I have a np-n310-ka06us computer, and have recently bought a new lcd screen to my computer after it crashed. Since one screw where destroyed, I had to brake up one part of the plastic cover (bezel) that...

You may be able to find the plastic cover for your screen via the internet, ebay or the manufacturer of the LCD screen. Without knowing the make and model of your LCD monitor, I'm unable to post you any links for replacement cover. Type your make and model into google (for example Dell DSX100 LCD monitor casing) and search the listed sites for the best deal. Alternatively do the same on ebay.co.uk (if live in the UK) or ebay.com if in the US.

Hope this helps and if you need any further info please comment and i'll try and help more.

How do I replace my lcd on my Pavilion dv5 z-1000?

There are screws on all four corners of the plastic bezel. They're underneath the rubber / plastic nipples.

Just unscrew them and carefully peel the plastic apart from the lcd. Just use your best judgment and be brave !!

It's not hard to do. You don't need a guide or anything...just common sense.

Cracked case

Hi there.
You can order spare parts from Acer themselves or alternatively look on Ebay for spare plastics.
It sounds like you need the lid face and bezel (plastic that surrounds the screen), as for disassembley i'm afraid its trial and error as you may have to take the laptop apart to replace the plastics.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

What your describing is a failure of the LCD or possibly the inverter cable connection to the LCD. Most likely an LCD replacement will be required.

How to change the LCD

Leo -

Replacement LCDs are available for just about every make and model of laptop on Ebay, generally for a reasonable price.

However, installing a new LCD in a laptop can be a difficult operation; I highly recommend having the installation done in a repair shop.

If you do decide to try installing a new LCD yourself, here are the basics:

There are several screws you need to remove. On the bottom of the computer are generally between two and six screws that hold the power/hinge bezel in place, as well as the keyboard. Remove these screws and CAREFULLY pull up the bezel. The keyboard may also have screws under that bezel, remove those before lifting the keyboard (usually doesn't have to be completely disconnected, just shifted aside, but don't stress the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard too much).

With the bezel and keyboard out of the way, you should see a cable that connects the motherboard to the LCD through one of the LCD hinges. Disconnect that cable.

The plastics covering the LCD should have a handful of rubber or plastic 'plugs', between four and ten of 'em, with small screws located underneath each. Remove these screws, then very gently use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the LCD plastics apart at the seams along the side.

Once the front plastics are removed from the LCD, disconnect the long, slim PCB that rests beneath the actual screen. Remove the screws that hold the screen to the mounting brackets along its sides, and the LCD should be loose. Carefully lift it from the rear plastic cover, and you'll see a ribbon cable connected to the display. Release the clips that hold the ribbon cable in place on the screen, and you're ready to put in the new LCD!

I know its long and circuitous, but repeat the steps above in reverse to install the new screen.

Hope this helps!
