This 20/1 mix sounds a bit ritch,,, most blowers use about 40/1 but i like to see a bit of smoke from them ,,that way i know there getting oil to the bearings,, so start up with the 20/1 if it hunts to much thin the mix a bit,, better to have to much oil than none

well thats a 40 to 1 mix witch is what i sead it runs on too?

mind you im talking about a british gall,,,8,pints!

not a US gall,,,6 pints? if its a US gall then that last mix of 4o/z per US gall would make it 30 to 1? thats even more oil in it?

if a US gall @6 pints mix 3o/zs for a 40-1 mix or 2.5 ozs for 48-1 mix

Same question but for a Toro 3690

the oil used is 2 stroke oil---any brand ( not engine oil) as it has special additives that make the oil cling to the parts with out blocking the carby jets
next the ratio is normally etched on the fuel cap as 20:1 or the like
fuel can be the lower octane rating fuel but not e-mix fuels
a call to a toro service center or local mower shop will tell you what the ratio is ( could be 50:1 for a 25cc engine)
From experience I would say about 35:1 for a start and watch the oil smoke from the exhaust at rpms
no smoke seen is too light on the oil and smoky is too much oil
the correct ratio will be when you can just see smoke at rpms

Oil petrol mixture for Rockwell 26cc weedeater

Two cycle engines run on a mixture of gasoline and oil. Each engine type is designed to run on a specific gas-to-oil mix ratio.
IMPORTANT: Use only oil that is labeled for use in "Two-cycle" or "Two-stroke" engines. Home Depot and other stores now have "premixed fuel" of gas and 2 cycle oil.
To mix two-cycle fuel, start by putting correct amount of oil in gas can. Then slowly add correct amount of gasoline. Do not try to mix gas and oil directly in gas tank of equipment.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any fuel that is over 30 days old. Do not mix more fuel than you are likely to use in a month. Old fuel can gum carburetors and prevent starting. Always use fresh fuel.

The chart below shows correct amount of oil per gallon that each mixing ratio requires. Expect that yours will be between 32 gas to1 oil and 50 to 1. 32:1 and 50:1 are most popular.
Ratio GAS:OIL UNITED STATES OIL per 1 U.S. GALLON Gasoline
(128 oz.)
*INTERNATIONAL OIL per 1 IMPERIAL GALLON Gasoline
(160 oz.)
*INTERNATIONAL OIL per 1 LITER Gasoline
(metric)
32:1 4 oz. 5 oz. 31.25 mL 40:1 3.2 oz. 4 oz. 25 mL 50:1 2.6 oz. 3.2 oz. 20 mL

What kind of oil do I need to use in my husqvarna 16" chain saw?

Unleaded fuel with Husqvarna two stoke oil mixed at 50-1, for the chain you need a non fling chain oil, both should be available from your local Husqvarna dealer.

I put gas in the oil and oil in the gas can it be fixed

As far as gas in the oil I presume you are talking about bar oil. I wouldn't worry to much about that. Empty out all you can and refill with bar oil. With oil in the gas I would drain all I could out of fuel tank, then remove sparkplug and pull srarter rope several times. With plug still out i would pour 1-2 ounces of of gas into plug opening and let it set for a few mins.,then dump out remainging fuel. Once again I would pull starter rope several times. Reinstall plug and refill gas tank with proper fuel oil mix. Try to start. If you're lucky you can get it to fire and burn off excess oil in afew pulls. If you can get it started I would run for just a couple of mins, then shut off and drain gas again. Hope this helps. Thanks.

PRO 4000 I bought one used,I don't know the fuel oil mixture.your help would be appreciated

50:1 should work nicely. Be sure to use fresh fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil for the mix. Place the mix in it's own can and shake thoroughly just before each filling. Don't make up more than a gallon at a time unless the saw is used to make your living. Hope this helps!

Homelite 25cc 2cycle trimmer.built in March of 1999. what is the proper oil to gas ratio?

If you use a synthetic 2-stroke oil, you can easily get by running a 40:1 ratio mix...that is 3.2oz oil/gallon of gas. A richer oil mix won't hurt either (say 20:1 (2X the oil of 40:1). I recommend synthetic always be used alongwith Stabil fuel treatment because after about 30 days, gas loses its volatility and begins to breakdown without it...causing fuel problems.

Oil change

STOP !

Your lawn mower is has a 4 cycle engine
It does not require oil to be mixed with the gas
The oil for the crankcase should be a 10W-30 or 10W- 40
NO GAS IN THE OIL
What you have is a 2 cycle oil that is mixed with gas for most weed eaters, chain saws, ect
Putting a gas/oil mix in your mower WILL severely damage it destroying the main bearings and could lead to an explosion or fire.
Please be careful

Lots of smoke and oil comming out the exaust . only 1 and a half year old

Has fuel with oil accidentally been mixed to the fuel for this mower? We have had mix oil accident get added it to this lawn mower and it will smoke a lot with 2 cycle oil.

Unless you are certain no oil is mixed with the fuel I would drain and clean the fuel system.
Replaced the spark plug with the new and replace the air filter In addition ensure you do and oil change every 30 hours using a high grade 30 wt oil to include make sure it is not over full.

Hope this tip helps.

I dont have the manual and Im not sure what ype of oil I should put on this chain saw. On the left The nob sais oil (which kind?) and on the right side it sais oil/gas mix (which kind?) what do i put on...

The Left knob needs chain oil. Available in most hardware stores. The right is gas mixed with 2 stroke motor oil. Usually a 50:1 mix. Ie. 50 parts gas to 1 part oil. 2 stroke oil comes with a built in measuring tool and directions printed on the bottle.
