The sound just stoped suddenly.

Restart in safe mode - Tap F8 as soon as the computer starts up, before windows has a chance to start.. I do Safe Mode with Networking.. The screen in safe mode will need to be adjusted so you can see better.. this is a testing mode.. Now in safe mode, try playing a sound or a video.. If you have sound, then chances are you computer is infected. If there still isn't any sound, it's either a faulty sound card or you need to reload you sound card drivers.. Hope this helps you.

Not charging when plugged into my laotop, light not on?

it's either a plug problem on your laptop(toshiba,hp, and acer are bad for this) or you have a very dead battery.
if it's the plug in; you'll have to get a tech to re-solder the plug back to the motherboard. hope this helps

My uncle gave me a toshiba s1400 for my little girl but it has an administrator password but he has forgot what it was

firstly on startup, press f8 to log into safemode and try changing it from there.
if that doesn't work and there was no other user account created, that makes it impossible to use, for him to give it to your little girl, he probably has no important information on it, you might want to consider running a fresh installation. alternatively but quicker is removing your CMOS battery and replacing it, note that all your settings such as time and date including the password, however this can only be done by a professional because it requires opening the pc.

My screen stoped working and it is on the lowest color quality and zoomed in to 800 by 600 pixels and i cant change it... can you help me?

Sir you need to reinstall your Graphics Card driver or VGA. For that follow these steps:

  1. Right click on the "My Computer'' icon.
  2. Click on " Properties".
  3. You'll see the System Properties pop up menu,Click on Hardware tab.
  4. Click on Device Manager.
  5. Device Manager pop up window would appear on screen, on that click on Display Adapters.
  6. If it shows your VGA card there then Right click on it and then on Update Driver.
  7. Or if it don't Right click on it and Uninstall it and then restart your computer.
  8. Then install your Graphic card from either Disc or any other file in your system where you placed the VGA driver.
  9. Make sure you install the compatible version for your windows.

Computer wasn't turning on, took the battery out and back in. Next it was asking for OS put in Windows XP started booting up then stoped got blue screen of death.

It sounds like you have a stick of ram that has gone bad, or your operating system install has been corrupted.

If you have your windows xp disk and it is not bad ram, try running a chkdsk first, then a repair. If those do not help, then reinstall from scratch.

Toshiba A55-s306 problem

It can be 1 of three things.

1. the battery may be shorting out the system, take it out, see if it works.
2. the power adaper is dead, if you connect the adapter to the notebook, and you dont see a light come on, it means the notebook is not getting power, you can also hook up a volt meter to the connector to see if its getting poewr.
3. you have a problem with the main board.

thanks adi

My toshiba laptop screen changed color

connect an external monitor (crt or flat panel monitor) at the back of your laptop and see if the display is fine. if the display is fine on the monitor then it means to say that the lcd backlight is not working properly.
