Any time you leave a printer powered up it creates heat. This heat will a lot of times bake ink into the printer's jets. I would take the color cartridges out, use a soft, clean, damp cloth and apply it to the cartridge tip. You're probably get a bunch of ink that soaks into the cloth, just wipe it a little when you're done and it should be good to go. Then before installing them again use a clean cotton swab. I use rubbing alcohol here and clean any and all of the residue out of cartridge carrier and off of the print heads. You may have to do this a couple of times to get the ink to flow through there effectively. Do a couple of cleanings via the printer's standard method. Usually the first run doesn't come completely clean. The second will be much better. Then before I shut it down I print something substantial so that fresh ink is run through the printer. Just make sure that you turn it off when you're done or you run the risk of clogging it again.

Epson Stylus pro 10000 Vista x64 Compatible? YES

Use the driver for the next model up: Epson stylus pro 16000.  A 64 bit driver is available for XPx64 on Epson site:  http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=19156&prodoid=22966689&infoType=Downloads&platform=All Install Printer Driver v5.50 in Vista x64.  The 10000 will print 100%, just like in XP with its own drivers.  Any problems?  I would happy to help you save the time I spent before finding that out.
Good luck!

Print job barely visible

Have you tried configuring the settings? I had that problem with an Epson Stylus NX125. I put in all new cartridges, went to properties and tried all options. setting it to black & white, then to color and the greytone. Printing samples after each change. I finally came up with an acceptable print after moving it back to color.

Just purchased an Epson Stylus Pro 10000 Archival Ink. Nosel check looks good with solid lines, however prints are very light. Ran clean multiple times. Printer came with existing ink and I don't know if...

Old ink loses some of its intensity after about 8 months.
heat/light seems to destroy some of the depth in the ink's shade. i would be completely replacing the cartridges with fresh ones. Constant cleaning uses up so much ink and the casettes will need replacing too often. This raises the cost of your prints.

Recently my epson 9600 pauses during a printing job for long periods, so that it can take several hours to complete one print.

Need more info.

Are you printing from a computer directly attached to the 9600 ?
or
Are you printing through a network.

If you are using a networked printer then your print job could be slowed a good bit by heavy network traffic.

C84 stylus - put new cartridges in and it doesn't print full text or all color

Did you use Original Epson Cartridge? I have learned from experience, that Epson does not like generic ink. You must use Epson Genuine Cartridges. Hopefully, you haven't screwed up the printer, like I did. I did try cleaning the heads and doing everything possible. Use 2 cartridges of ech set, for cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. ......But Nothing.
Had to go out and purchase a new printer.;
Good Luck :0(

Epson Stylus Photo R800 driver ran out of ink weeks ago. Today new ink cartridges arrived. Replaced all cartridges (even the ones that were ok) because the printer's low ink light would not go out until I...

His could be because epson print jets plug up. and usualy cost more to repair than to purchase new printer. i had epson and now buy HP because hp when you replace the ink cartridge the spray jets are incorporated into the cartridge the only thing you have to be carefull of is that somel manufactures now put a chip on the cartridges to expire the units so they can sell you another even if you dont use the ink HP included so look for exp. date on new units. look into food warehouses like sams. costco, Bjs etc. they usualy have good prices on printers. sunday paper is also a good place to look.
