Re: LCD screen Cracked
You can get a replacement screen from Dell. Most computer repair shops can replace your LCD screen. If you're interested in replacing it yourself, you can try following these instructions although note that the instructions are for a different Dell laptop, so your experience may vary a bit.

If your LCD is cracked, you will need to unfortunately replace the entire LCD. Simply putting a screen protector (which is just a thin film) will not stop the crack from getting worse. There is unfortunately no magical way to fix your screen other than simply replacing the LCD panel itself, which is totally doable. Many electronics repair shops can fix your TV pretty easily. In some cases, you can even mail it into Toshiba.
It sounds like you cracked the screen. If it is cracked, you cannot fix it. Your only options are to replace the screen (BIG $$$) or buy a new set. If you can email me a pic of the TV I can tell you for sure if the screen is cracked. LCD screen are very thin, about as thick as a dime and it doesn't take much to crack them.
Your LCD/monitor is cracked from the inside. There are several things that can
cause a screen to crack from the inside. The two most common are
pressure on the screen or dropping the
machine. Sorry, but it is irreparable. You need to buy a replacement.
The set needs a new LCD if it looks cracked and swirly, the colors all run together in the area of the crack don't they! If it is cracked it can't be fixed. you can replace the lcd but I am not sure if a warranty will cover a cracked screen or not. You will need to contact LG and be very nice to them and see if they will honer the warranty on this.
if the lcd screen is cracked it will need to be replaced to restore proper operation of the set it can be costly in some cases as much or more then the cost of the set new take your model number serial and call sony to see what the cost of the new panel is
How do you want me to help you. A cracked screen is a cracked screen. And you say that it does not help you take pics. Well. you are already doing the next best thing, ie, using the eyepiece. If you feel that is cumbersom then have the screen replaced. You may not be able to justify the crack, towards warranty.
If the LCD screen is cracked better take it to a service center near you and let them have that LCD screen replace , if its still under warranty that should be free but if not I will still advcie you to have the LCD screen replace it wont cost that much..
The cracked LCD itself can not be fixed, however a replacement LCD is always an option. They are fairly cheap, running around 40-50 dollars.
