Sounds like your computer has lost its video drivers and is reverting to a standard VGA screen resolution. Reinstall the drivers for your video card. You should be able to get these from the Dell website or the installation CDs that came with the unit.

How do i reset my email fonts

Changing font size for reading in Outlook and Gmail

To read Mail in a larger font in Outlook:
  • Hold down Ctrl while turning the scroll wheel on your mouse down.
In Outlook 2007 and later, alternatively
  • Open the message in its own window.
  • Click Other Actions.
  • Select Zoom... from the menu.
  • Choose the desired zoom level.
  • Click OK.
Outlook will not remember the zoom level.

Since this does not work with plain text emails (the mouse wheel does), also select Tools ' Options... from the menu, go to the Mail Format tab, click Fonts... and use the Choose Font... button under When composing and reading plain text: to choose a bigger font. The above instructions are courtesy of About.com.

Here is a link referring to reading Gmail.

How to change view size in windows 8

You can change the view size in Windows 8 in the following ways:
1) By changing the size of text and other items on the desktop
You can change the size of text and other items (like icons) on your desktop without disturbing your current screen resolution settings. To do this, follow the steps mentioned ahead:a)Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping "Search" (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking "Search"), enter "Make text larger" in the search box, and then tapping or clicking "Make text and other items larger or smaller".
b) Drag the slider until the items in the preview image are the size you want them to be.
c) Tap or click "Apply".
You'll see the change the next time you sign in to Windows.
Also, you can change the text size for specific items (such as Window title bars or tooltips) without affecting the size of anything else on your desktop. Follow these steps to do this:
a) Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping "Search" (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking "Search"), entering "Make text larger" in the search box, and then tapping or clicking "Make text and other items larger or smaller".
b) Under "Change only the text size", choose the item you'd like to change and pick a text size. If you want the text to be bold, select the "Bold" check box.
c) Tap or click "Apply".
You'll see the change the next time you sign in to Windows.
Note: To view a pictorial description of the above process, refer to the link:
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3153/~/adjusting-windows-8-display-size%2Fscaling-for-high-dpi%2Fppi-monitors
2) By changing screen resolution
You can change the view size on your desktop by changing screen resolution settings. To do this, follow these steps:
a) Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap "Settings", and then tap "Change PC settings" (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click "Settings", and then click "Change PC settings").
b) Tap or click "PC and devices", then tap or click "Display".
c)Tap or click the resolution slider and drag it until you find your desired resolution.
d) Tap or click "Apply".

How to widen my screen

    • 1 Use the zoom in and out shortcut with your mouse. Many programs such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Microsoft Word allow users to zoom in and out quickly using their mouse and keyboard. Hold down the "Control" ("Ctrl") key, and then move the mouse wheel forward to zoom in or backward to zoom out until the text fits your screen to your liking.
    • 2 Use the zoom command from your program's menus. If you don't have a mouse with a wheel or the mouse zoom shortcut does not work, try locating a "zoom" command in the "View" menu of your program. Many programs have an option to zoom in and out under the "View" menu, which will make text larger or smaller. You may have to select "Zoom in" or "Zoom out" several times before the text is the right size.
    • 3 Change your screen resolution. Altering your screen resolution can change the size of windows and text on your screen. Right click the desktop, select "Properties" (Windows XP) or "Personalize" (Windows Vista and 7), click the "Settings" tab (XP), or the "Display Settings" link (Vista) or click "Display" and then "Adjust Screen Resolution" (7). Adjust the resolution slider up or down, click "Apply" and then click "OK."

You can make it by adjusting screen resolution. Right click on an empty space on desktop and go to properties, there click on Settings Tab. There you can see Screen resolution options. Drag the bar to adjust your display as you like. Once done click apply and OK

Text too small

You can increase the screen resolution by going to start/control panel/display and decrease the screen resolution; lowering the resolution makes the displayed items larger.
If you have window 7 you can increase the display by 125% or 150% from the same panel without changing the resolution.
If you are having trouble only with web pages, try holding the ctrl key and rotate your mouse wheel up or down (or use +,- keys if you don't have a wheel mouse) This trick should work on almost any web pages.

All things on my imac desktop is bigger by 2x

You may have
- Adjusted the screen resolution inadvertently (go to the System Preferences > Displays panel to fix this, adjust the screen resolution to a higher setting, i.e. toward the bottom of the list)
- Inadvertently used "screen zoom" by holding control and doing a scroll with the mouse trackball (or a 2-finger scroll with the mighty mouse). To fix this, try holding control and scrolling the mouse's scroll wheel down. (Or swiping downward with 2 fingers on the mighty mouse if you are using one of those)
- Accidentally adjusted the size of the icons in the finder. You can fix this by going to the finder (click the desktop) and hit command J (or just go to View > Show View Options). This will allow you to adjust the size of the icons on the desktop, or any other window.

My screen is too zoomed in when I try to view

You can try scrolling down the mouse wheel while holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard.

If you want to decrease the text size on a web page you can go to: View > and reduce the text size in Internet explorer (In firefox and other browsers you can go to View and use the Zoom option)

Please let me know if this helps you.

Your comments and ratings are highly appreciated.

My screen size will not go back to original size to large to wide

If you are referring to the screensize of your browser you can adjust this by pressing ctrl on the keyboard and using the wheel in your mouse. If this is about how your desktop is displayed you will need to right click on the desktop > screen resolution and adjust the dimensions.
