Random hanging and unit shutdown typ...

Firstly please disregard first answer and the second is on the right line but I,m sure you will find the problem to be a software issue not a ram or hdd problem as these will present themselves at the start, not 2hrs or more later.( will contradict myself later)

firstly run a complete virus scan and any other programs you have associated with this.

If this comes back clean then as second answer suggests run a Chkdisk or scandisk.

If your confident enough to strip down the laptop and expose the cpu & fan then it may well help if you clean this and apply some compound to the heatsink as this will help cool the cpu as this may well be the problem, despite what I said at the start..hope this will help

its mainly u r motherboard problem so kindly replace u r mother board...or check u r RAM,HDD, or Use some other HDD or RAM inthe same machine if same problem will occur mptherboard rplace ment is the only way..

hi, mother board bad will be absolutly the last option,i have solved a similar problem again with a sony VAIO, the HDD stops after some times, this is when the system hangs up, or u have this FATAL error messages on the blue screen,RAM can also not be ignored, as sometiems it can also cause the same problem, see what u can go in for first , RAM Or HDD,Ii suggest u check the hdd, while the system is on try running the CHKDSK or scandisk, or any other disk checking utility,ur HDD might not be fully damaged , it might also have some BAD sectors.. good luck buddy.. let me know..
