My reader's menu is frozen and it wont respond to any buttons. How do I fix it?

The Reader may not turn on, or it may appear to be frozen if the unit needs to be reset, the battery is completely discharged or moisture condensation has occurred. Please perform the below mentioned steps and check whether it helps. Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the Reader status after completing each step.
1. Connect the Reader to a USB connection or optional AC adapter. Allow approximately 5 min for it to turn on. If it does not turn on automatically, try to turn it on again. If it still does not turn on, continue with the rest of this procedure. 2. Perform a soft reset. Just press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object 3. After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader again. If the Indicator light next to the power button on the Reader is yellow , the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup. 4. If startup did not complete, connect the Reader to the computer or optional AC adapter and perform a soft reset again. 5. Disconnect the Reader from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader. Check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding. 6. If the unit is not responding but Starting up... is displayed on the screen, attempt a hard reset. 7. If the unit is still frozen, connect it again to the computer or optional AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the reader is red . If this light is red , allow the Reader to charge for one hour so there is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.
* If your computer goes into hibernation or sleep mode, charging will stop and the red charge indicator on the Reader will turn off. * It is recommended to charge the Reader while you are using the computer or to adjust your sleep/hibernation settings of your computer to avoid any interruption in the charging process. You also can use the optional AC Adapter model ACS-5220E. 8. Once the Reader has sufficient charge, perform these troubleshooting steps again. 9. Under certain circumstances, moisture condensation can occur. Moisture condensation can be caused by moving the Reader between temperature extremes or if the Reader has come in direct contact with moisture. If you suspect moisture as the cause, allow the Reader to sit for a few hours before attempting to turn it back on.
General notes regarding the battery status: * You can verify the charge status by disconnecting the Reader from the computer and checking the battery indicator. The battery indicator will display 4 black bars when it is fully charged. * It will take approximately 4 hours to achieve a full charge with a computer. It will take approximately 2 hours to achieve a full charge with the optional AC Adapter.

    Reading this may have shed light on my problem! I left my eReader to charge from the computer overnight, but I forgot that the computer goes into sleep mode, when I got up in the morning my screen had frozen with some of the Reader logo showing, but it wouldn't respond to anything else, I'll try the advice here to get it back up and running, thanks lots, I'll let you know if it works!! :-)

Hello.
It could be a software problem (but you can't connect by USB cable) or a hardware problem. Unfortunately without proper tools you can't fix either. You just have to take it to a Samsung service.

My sony ereader prs-650 is stuck on sleep mode and it wont do anything ,, it wont charge when connected to the computer


The Sony Reader used a special type of display; the LCD can retain an image without having power. It takes power while changing the pages. In most of the cases, if the power is fully discharged, the LCD will keep the last image that was displayed it makes an impression that the Reader is frozen. However, the Actual thing is, the screen retains the last image on the screen and there is no power to change the pages. These type of situations can be resolved by charging the Reader sufficiently.


Each step in my solution is a possible resolution. Hence I suggest that you perform each step and check the operation.


Charge the battery fully by connecting to a computer or by using a compatible AC Adaptor. It may take a few minutes (up to 15 minutes) to display the charging symbol if the Reader is fully drained in its last use.


Once the reader is charged fully (at least 45 minutes), slide the power button to turn ON.


Perform a soft reset. We can perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the Reader.


After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device again. If the Indicator light next to the power button on the Reader device is yellow, the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup.
If the Reader is still not charging up properly, connect the Reader to computer or AC Adaptor and then press the reset button.




Disconnect the Reader device from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device. Check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding


If the unit is still frozen, connect it again to the computer or AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is red . If this light is red , allow the Reader device to charge for one hour so there is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.


If the issue persists, perform a hard reset to resolve the issue. Please follow the steps to perform a hard reset:

Screen is frozen and wont respond to the touch


You can also try reseting it (use a small safty pin or paperclip in the reset hole) or remove the back cover and carefully unhook the battery from it's balance connector, wait a few minutes and rehook it back up and try pressing the power button. I am using my cruz tablet to write thus right now. Good luck!

Screen frozen


Try a hard reset first. (menu and on/off button together for 5sec) if it boots again, but then doesn't repspond touch sensor screen needs replacement. Take it to the apple store and see if they'll give you a replacement. If they don't there are third party iPhone Repair Services that can fix it for you. There are also free iPhone Repair guide that show you how to fix it yourself.

My computer crashed and now Nano isnt being picked up by itunes, the screen has frozen and it wont play either


Reset iPod nano (if it isn’t responding) Slide the Hold switch to HOLD and back again. Press the Menu and Center buttons at the same time for about 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Hold down the Menu and Select (center) buttons down at the same time for 5-10 secs, or until the Apple logo appears. This should restart the device.

Flip HD camera frozen "on"


Just take out the batteries and put them back in. That should fix your problem. =)

Screen is frozen


How to reset iPod Nano if it is not responding or frozen.
Hold down the Center and Menu buttons simultaneously. The screen will start to melt away. Then you will see the Apple appear on the screen.

The iPod has been reset sucessfully.
Music files should still be saved, but some customized settings may be lost.

If that doesn’t fix your problem, try a hard reset by holding down Menu and Play/Pause simultaneously for about 10 seconds. A hard reset will clean all data off the unit.
